Econo Lodge

The check-in was smooth and while the staff are helpful and friendly, the overwhelming perfume smells start with check-in as well. Since they do not have an in hotel breakfast option, you are given a voucher for a free breakfast per person at the Badlands Saloon downtown. We utilized it on our way out of town. The meal was the best part of the stay using Econo Lodge. In our opinions, this place is the only eatery worth visiting in Wall. The small, low toilets are always a problem and this trip was no exception. For a person with mobility issues such as ours, these toilets are a hotel's money saving nuisance. The loud sounds from the room above was annoying but as many motel style locations (outside access rooms), this wasn't unexpected. Everywhere and everything was overwhelming perfumed!! From the check-in area to the bedding to the bathroom supplies, everything stunk. We stayed the one night but immediately canceled the additional reservation because of the sinus overload. We woke up stuffed and having trouble breathing. Using covering perfumes does not indicate clean and, in fact, causes allergies/asthma to flare.

The hotel room was dark and dingy. I was on the first floor under the stairs and couldn’t wait to leave. It was close to the Badlands, so that was the best thing. The lights from the parking lot lit up the whole room and I had to try to pin the curtains shut with a hanger.

Clean, friendly, quiet, just the right spot. Wall had little to offer for quality but this Econolodge is top notch. Even the corners are clean. Great job. Hotel wise: if you travel for budget this is great,pillows are meh, so bring your own, beds are soft, but clean, amenities for room arnt going to be to quality due to econo type. But if you need it, it’s there. Ac Unit is noisy, but effective, and clean. Toilet flush for some time, but clean, shower clean, towels clean.

The good: Awesome and super friendly check-in! Room exceptionally clean The bad: Smoking area was right outside our door. The entire hotel are outside room doors only. Noise, noise and more noise. Pool was closed. Low profile toilets are way too low! This is a real problem throughout the U.S. hotels. No elevator. The ugly: We were counting on eating at the Subway next to the hotel. It is gone. The breakfast is a bagged meal -- literally in a paper bag. While they were easy to take along on travels, this does NOT accommodate food allergies so most of ours got tossed.

Room was ok, clean, comfortable bed, AC worked well. Girl that checked us in was very pleasant. Close to the entrance of the Badlands NP and Wall drug. We needed to stay in an accessible room on the first floor and the occupant above was walking around from 4:30am-6:00am and it was very loud, woken up even over AC, sound machine and ear plugs. If you stay request 2nd floor, keep in mind no elevator.

Big pool - enough to swim laps in - clean. Clean room, comfortable beds. No elevator, so ask for ground floor if you don't want to lug stuff up/downstairs. No hot tub. Sack breakfast. Loud AC in room. Floors seemed sticky to me. Bathroom was tight. Curtains didn't keep out a lot of light. Wife thought fridge made funny sounds.

Very nice hotel - wonderful staff - great idea for breakfast, you get a bag with water, breakfast sandwiche, sweet roll and orange. This was a great way to start the day - very clean room, looks like it had been remodeled.

We stayed here for the proximity to Badlands National Park and it served its purpose. The rooms were clean and the front desk clerk was friendly and welcoming. The grab and go breakfast had a bottle of water, piece of fruit, microwave sausage sandwich and prepackaged pastry. Not very tasty but got us on our way to the park early. Breakfast is served starting at 7 am.

Heading to Mt.Rushmore, decided to stop in Wall. It was late when we arrived and other lodgings were all booked. Luckily, Econo lodge had 1 room left, with 2 queen beds. Thankfully, it had 2 beds as the first bed we were going to sleep in sunk in the middle. The room was clean and the floors are not carpeted which I like better. The girl checking us in was very pleasant. In the morning they give you a to go bag that had a water and muffin. Price was okay.
