I came with my friend to celebrate her 40th birthday. A real treat for us both. My friend is vegan so I let the team know in advance so they could cater for her. I was intrigued to see how they would do 15 courses of vegan which I know can be a challenge. We booked the overnight stay as well. Very warm and friendly greeting and this continued throughout our experience. Every single staff member was warm, knowledge and with clear passion for what they are doing. I won't bore you with every detail of the meal we had, wouldn't want to spoil any details for anyone going but I can say it was absolutely sensational from start to finish, highlights for me were the taco, and the sweetbreads but out of 15 items there wasn't a single one I didn't enjoy. Each presented beautifully and explained with such enthusiasm. My friend loved her vegan menu, it's quite incredible what can be achieved with vegetables and other vegan items, I would have happily eaten all of those things myself and wouldn't feel like I was missing out on anything. The additional treat for her birthday was also very much appreciated. We also had the mixed pairing and all were superb, who knew non alcoholic options could be so inventive. The wines were excellent as well, we had different drinks since we had different menus, attention to detail exceptional. Our stay overnight was very comfortable and breakfast the next day was also a real treat, very unique offerings, such a nice change. Overall very very impressed. I intend to return again with my husband for our next special occasion

We stayed here as part of a dinner, bed and breakfast package at Hjem (which I think is the only way of staying here) and booked one of the new lodges across the road from the restaurant/hotel. The room was wonderfully appointed and very clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom had a fab shower and decent toiletries included and there was also a complimentary minibar with some goodies in it. The bedding and towels, etc were new and very nice to use too. Be aware that the room does look out onto the road which is a touch on the noisy side, but we did not find this overly intrusive. It was great to be able to just walk back across the road after dinner!

We did not know what to expect from this hotel when booking, especially when the adverts promote the Michelin star restaurant. Also, the outside picture looked grubby and it's on a reasonably busy road. On arrival, there was ample parking albeit that reception was not clearly marked. Once we entered, the welcome desk was small but suitable for the ambience of the hotel / restaurant. Our room was a revelation. It was everything I like in hotel accommodation. Clean, simple, uncluttered with modern furniture and appliances in both the bedroom and en suite. We ate out due to the cost of the M* menu. Would have been nice to eat in if we weren't on a walk the Wall budget. We did have a very reasonably priced drink in the light and airy bar. Next day we were absolutely amazed by the wonderful breakfast. (Probably one of the best I've ever had). Care and attention had been taken over the offer which included locally produced items like breakfast pie and individual bread. This meal, along with the attentive and pleasant staff, is the reason why this hotel gets and excellent rating from me.
