Wonderfully stay, rooms were nice and clean, great selection of food and super yummy. I did the discover scuba dive (my first time ever) and it was just unreal, the hotel also helped organise day trips with third parties. Super helpful and they also had a small island across from the hotel which they can drop you off at, great spot to relax and do some snorkelling, we were the only ones on the island

My 7 nights stay in November was just perfect! I read the excellent reviews of the hotel before booking and I confirm that it is totally worth it. I took the hotel + dives package (6 days, 7 nights) and I would not change anthing if I had to go back again. About the dives: Speedboats from hotel are not even a minut away from the resort. Super convenient and practical. The fact that it is a high speed boat allowed us to reach dives sites very fast compared to ther dive boats I have experienced. Usually 20, 40 or 50 min max (except special day trips that bring you further). The gear is of very good quality, so is the very mordern boat. We were always diving in small group of 6-8 guests + 3 dive masters which made it very easy to just be diving all together without any wasted waiting time. The dive masters are adorable. They are a mix of different nationalities, including local. The captains (locals) are also always making sure you are fine having enough water and watermelon. Special thank you to Ronja & Joséphine (both interns) who are so kind, caring and very professional when you needed assistance during dives (I had ear issues and I got tured during a strong current dive). Big thank you to Yigit, Erkan, Abner (dive masters) for making the best out of our dives while making sure the good mood is there! It is a pleasure to see a diving team so enthousiatic about their work, even though they dive there every day. In general, everything is just super smooth as the boat is basically in front of the hotel and the team will bring and set up your gear for you. No need to mention that all diving spots were amazing! Coral is very healthy and fish diversity is incredible. I only repeated 1 dive spot out of 17 dives. Hotel itself: The rooms are as per the pictures: modern, clean, comfortable but small. It’s fine because you will spend most of the time outside. All the staff is very kind: special recognition to Rivon at the reception and the smiling waitresses at the restaurant. Food prices are a bit expensive but the variety (local + international) and quality was good. Hotel location is very practical as it is in front of the ferry port but still super calm. Going there solo: I was a solo traveller and I think I was the only one from the whole hotel which was full. Being everyday diving with people gave me the opportunity to socialize and make friends. Also the staff feels like family after some days spent in the hotel, as it is not big. I can recommend but don’t expect to have big shared tables with lots of solo travellers- at least when I was there. You will need to do a little effort on your side to join others in activities outside diving. Things to be aware of & areas of improvement: - The hotel doesn’t have beach fromt. It is by the sea, but it is a small hatbour with a few boats. - There is not much to do in Waisai except diving/snorkeling. I would not recommend if you are not passionated about sealife. Local restaurants are 25 min away walk

The Instructors are great ! Very patient! Equipment is in good condition, very nice boat, new and proper for diving ! In the beginning , we went in the swimming pool, learned how to use the cylinder, regulator, all the hand signals we use to communicate under water… how to clean the mask, etc … after felling confident and secure , we went to the beautiful world under the sea … Everybody should do it once in life ….!

We were there for a week of diving. The place is probably the best on main Wasai island. They have a very good restaurant (a bit expensive compared to places outside). Food costs avg 200k IDR per meal here vs 50-80k IDR in town at places like Pondok. But you’ll also spend on transport so only makes sense to go if you are a small group. They also have the best, fast boats around which saves a lot of time and is comfortable. The staff and hospitality are great. There was an issue with the boat on one of the days and they promptly sent another one. The rooms as many have said are small and gets a bit smelly from the bathroom due to the humidity outside/ wet clothes from diving. Please fix that somehow by adding room fresheners and good ventilation in the bathroom. Coming to diving, it’s THE BEST we’ve ever done! Fantastic dive sites all over Raja Ampat and if you request for certain sites, they’ll plan and take you there too. The dive masters Ronja and Josephine were friendly, helpful and fun. Instructor Pinar was super all the time and Abner was an amazing local guide! Do goto Melissa’s garden, mayhem, citrus with them more than others. The night dive I think could be at a better site or maybe add backwater / flouro dive as options as it would be unique and amazing at sites here. I also suggest a trip to Wayag if you have the time. Amazing place! Last suggestion to management - I heard a few snorkelers complain a bit. Maybe set expectations with them upfront next time on what they can/cannot see and why etc. It’s amazing for divers but snorkelers need to know they won’t have the same Experience as divers.

We had an amazing time diving with the Meridian team. The resort's dive boats are impressive and impeccably maintained. The dive schedule covered all the top sites and the team occasionally let us pick our own sites, which was an added bonus. The service on the boats and during surface intervals was also great, the crew does all of your gear handling and there's always drinks and snacks available. We especially enjoyed diving with both Wesley and Yigit, who were friendly and enthusiastic, great at spotting cool macro and went above and beyond to make sure we were having fun in and out of the water. The resort itself is also clean and comfortable and the food was good, albeit expensive. We especially appreciated the aircon, reliable wifi and fresh water showers, a luxury in Raja Ampat. Thank you to the whole Meridian team, we can't wait to come back!
