The Inn and Spa at East Wind

We were very excited to come to the spa for two nights, two birthdays and an anniversary. We went to the room and it was freezing cold in there so I called the front desk and they said they would call maintenance to the room. We went to have some lunch in the hotel restaurant. The waitress there knocked over my drink. I got semi-wet. We change tables. They never offered us anything for the inconvenience. When we went back to our room, the rooms were still ice cold. we went back to the reception area and told them and they told us that they don’t have heat until the temperature outside reaches 62°. They should’ve told me that when I called them and asked for maintenance. We ended up leaving and going home. It was an hour drive to get there and an hour drive to get back home , they claimed that they are green Hotel. They don’t have solar panels. They don’t have anything that shows that they are green Hotel. They lied. They lost two nights of guests and the spa lost a lot of money because we canceled our appointments.

I've got good news and bad news, which do you want first? I'll start with the good, the front desk staff is awesome! The bad news, the rooms are small, plain and dark and the television is some satellite dish that doesn't even get any channels. We purchased a SPA package, and we couldn't use the SPA because the waiting room was freezing, had no lights and the SPA staff was blatantly rude. This place is horrible, don't waste your money. Rooms: Small, dull and dreary. Noteworthy details: The SPA staff is rude, and the SPA is janky!

Was very disappointed on our last spa day. The relaxation room was anything but relaxing. I thought that there was a no phone policy in the spa but there were several people taking pics, being very loud and obnoxious. Thankfully our services were wonderful however. Our group has visited this spa several times over the years but I don’t see us returning.

BACK AGAIN with my other friends for an awesome experience - they were able to give us early check in (was not requested but was very welcomed). Spa experience was excellent, martini at the Desmond’s Bar was excellent and so was our female bartender; warm and engaging. Our lunch was delicious and plentiful. Rooms were clean as well as bathroom. I absolutely encourage friends to enjoy each other while having a relaxing overnight stay.

This place is very outdated and very deceiving. To have “spa” in its name I would’ve thought it was going to be amazing. It was such a disappointment. The waiting room is just a small square area, no hot tubs and no other lounges for relaxing. Very small steam room and sauna. The spa is also VERY tiny. I had 2 services, both of which were just ok.. one in the morning and one in evening… by the end of the of day the spa was gross, not kept up at all.. garbage everywhere, toilet paper not replaced etc. The staff also seemed to have no clue what was going on nor could care less about anything and there’s poor communication between the front desk and the spa. As for their robes.. they say they have plush robes - and it was anything but, it was like a bed sheet. And the pool is far away from the actual spa. They don’t have towels in the pool area either so you need to carry them from the front desk or spa. The layout makes no sense at all. The pool is barely heated and the lounge chairs were awful. All the cushions were so old and torn you were sitting on just hard wood and it was so uncomfortable. Plus it’s not relaxing because anyone in the hotel can use the pool, there’s kids and it was loud and people also doing laps. As for the “shops” at east wind it’s a bunch of candy stores. We stayed overnight as part of our package and also had a meal included at their restaurant -food was ok. This place wasn’t worth it all and we will not be returning. It needs a major revamp all around - amenities, decor and service.

My son was just married at the Northampton Room at East Wind. Many family members including myself stayed the night. Rooms were very clean. Hotel was very quiet. Only a couple slight issues with the hotel. Not all rooms have a refrigerator. My son and daughter in laws had one because they stayed in a suite. My one queen bed room didn’t have a refrigerator. Also. No USB charging station in the queen bed room. I found this odd especially for the price charged per room. Not even a lamp with USB. Front desk needs more help. Wedding was wonderful!

My wife and I were married at East Wind in one of the worst snow storms. We have this year and last year around the time we were married visited East Wind. I have a favorite room and I stay in it when I go. No, will not say what room it is but it is nice. Ok, could the rooms use some updating yes. Are they working updating the rooms yes. How do I know updated my room from last year LOL :) Would I like an alarm clock in the room yes. TV a bit complicated yes. I love it had a lot of channels. I l also love the pool and my wife loves the spa. The food at East Wind is excellent. Do I think it is expensive depends what you order. The pizza in the shops is very good as well. The pizza place will deliver but you pay extra for delivery.

Stayed in a suite for a few nights. Cost about $300/night with taxes. Very close to Calverton National Cemetery. Suite was good sized though being next to the ice machine was bad luck. Had a small fridge. No clock in room. No wake up calls available per front desk (weird). Worst television system I have seen in any hotel. You would need an advanced degree to figure out how to watch it. Never could just find the news, local or national. Entrances to complex do not have electronic door openers. If you have a disability requiring use of a wheelchair or mobility scooter, you will have to have a second person handy to get you through the door. This is a biggie. Would be considerate if at least one of the entrances had this capability. They may declare themselves to be handicapped compliant, but don't assume you can get in or out without help. Dining room very nice, classy. The dining room was not at all busy at the time of my dinner, but they may have had a function going on somewhere else in the building. Took a long time to get main course, the chicken and risotto were awful. Gravy was congealed and the risotto seemed like it had sat in a pan for an extended period of time. Basically inedible. Waitress volunteered to take it off the bill. She was pleasant as was the rest of the staff I dealt with. Appetizers in the bar area the next day were fine. A mixed bag overall. I would look for another place if I were to stay in the area again.

We celebrated my wife’s 71st birthday at the spa. Magnificent and professional service from the phone booking, to the treatments and to saying goodbye. We received a total of 7 treatments and each therapist was professional and at the top of their game. Our facial and massage treatments left us wanting to book again soon!! The package included lunch and a glass of wine. The food and table service was awesome. Thanks to all for making such a memorable experience. See you next time we are visiting Bay Shore.
