Royal Palms Beach Hotel

This is a fantastic place to stay. The food is excellent and the accommodation is first class. The staff are all very helpful especially Tharindo who helped us to secure our boarding passes home. There is lots to do in the local area with may trips organised by the hotel.

We added the Royal Palms to the end of a 12 day tour of Sri Lanka for a little r&r. Prior to arrival I requested a room near the one we had before and we were allocated the same room. On arrival we were met by Dilhani (a credit to the hotel as is Mr Chaminda). We were offered a refreshing drink and taken straight to our room to be supprised by a lovely welcome back. All the staff we met were excellent, always there with a greeting and a smile. A special mention to Ajesh on reception, Priyantha our pool attendant and Ajith who kept our room spotless. There is a good selection of food in the restaurant both local and international. The local Lion Beer and spirits are good with plenty of choices of cocktails on the AI, my favourite was the Arrack cocktail. Unfortunately the beach isn't brilliant as most of it has been washed away and while we were there the red flag was out and the waves were high however the pool is lovely. There are activities, a gym, spa and shops around the area with plenty of Tuk tuks available

A super hotel with sea views and easy beach access. The hotel have made sure that all of their team are friendly and efficient. In the restaurant a special mention for Supuni who was just delightful! The bar staff at the pool bar were great fun, the pool attendants were so friendly. The entertainment team encouraged us to join in Yoga and Aqua Aerobics, special mention for Crishmal - I will continue with my yoga practice I promise!

Good food, Great friendly staff with excellent service. Clean rooms, relaxing environment and commited service of the staff is commendable. Pool and locations were nice and calm. Looking forward for another stay in next vacation. Highly recommended ❤️

Without doubt the best hotel holiday experience we've ever had. On our honeymoon was hoping for something special and royal palms beach is certainly that. From the moment you arrive to the minute you leave the exceptional staff just can't do enough for you. Super efficient, warm, patient and always full of smiles and kindness. Abiding memories of hotel are wonderful facilities but overwhelmingly it is the staff who make this such a magical place. Special mentions to Upali, Nawod, Benura, Duminda, Jayindu, Chanaya, Jayasena. Kasun was welcoming and helpful every day in reception and is a lovely man. Special thanks to the chefs for delicious food every day, and also for our exquisite Japanese meal on our last night. We have recommended this exceptional hotel, and your beautiful country, to everyone we know. No wonder it receives so many awards. We'd give it our own if we could..

Wonderful property clean & food is really good. Dilhan from front office has give good assistance regarding the services and property. Kids really enjoyed the pool. Room are fairly big and clean. Nice beach view and can see awesome sunset from the from

There is a lovely, laid back atmosphere to this hotel and the moment you enter the reception area there is a wonderful ambiance. The staff are incredibly friendly, courteous and helpful; particularly the concierge and reception staff; all other staff were also exceptional. Although the main restaurant is classified as ‘buffet style’ there were at least three chefs preparing fresh food at all services; breakfast, lunch and dinner. The choice of food was very good and there was always a good selection of local dishes; be extremely wary of the innocuous chicken starter as it was the only dish that nearly beat me in terms of spiciness; I managed in the end. Although desserts were mainly European in style I have to thoroughly recommend the coconut pudding; absolutely delicious. There were never any issues with sunbeds and the pool staff would always ensure that you got the sunbed of choice. The freeform pool was lovely and maintained to a high standard. The pool bar was an added bonus! The standard of the rooms was very good and, although, there were some general small maintenance issues, when reported they were swiftly sorted. During my stay I had a room change as the monsoon rains made my first balcony somewhat precarious. There are monsoons in August and the sight of horizontal rain must be seen. The bed and pillows were one of the best I have ever slept in; they are just so comfortable. Overall a really relaxing stay and I would like to say a huge thank you and if I were to return to Sri Lanka I would seriously consider returning to this hotel.

We arrived at The Royal Palms after a tour and spent 9 relaxing days at this beautiful hotel. We had a large, comfortable bedroom and appreciated the authentic Srilankan decor. Our room and the rest of the hotel were spotlessly clean, and the grounds and pool area were also extremely well kept. We loved the food and I would definitely recommend a visit to the Jspanese restaurant, our meal there was amazing. All the staff could not be more helpful and friendly, they were attentive and nothing was too much trouble, we really couldn't have wished for more, the service was fantastic. We enjoyed our time at The Royal Palms immensely, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

My wife and I traveled to the Royal Palms on the 8 October for 2 weeks. Has soon as we walked into reception we were looked after, and things never changed for the fortnight we where there. Every single member of staff had a smile on there faces and would always ask if everything was OK . Our ground floor room(137) was spacious and clean with a great view of the pool and sea. The buffet restaurant gave a good option of breakfast, lunch and evening meals. The pool attendants (priyantha and another guy sorry forgot his name) would always bring your towels to your sunbeds and make sure you had the same beds everyday. The drinks in the bars was plenty full and lots of choices, it was a shame you could only have 1 glass of wine with your meal. It would be good if there was an alternative to the entertainment that they put on in the lobby bar but that's me being petty. There is no beach directly to the hotel due to the high tides but you can excess it from either end of the resort but you will have to step over a lot of rocks, unfortunately the sea is very rough and to dangerous to go into. You will get a lot of the locals wanting you to go in there shops or on their tuk tuks but with a friendly no they leave you alone or just want to talk to you. We took the local train to Galle which was a great experience sitting with the locals but very hot and a lot cheaper than getting a taxi or booking through the rep. We had a lovely meal in the Japanese restaurant on our last night and fully looked after by Nawod. I would highly recommend the hotel and we will definitely return.
