Porto Villa

It is a nice but modest hotel in the traditional Greek style with white walls and blue doors/windows overlooking the ocean and a small harbour. Even the breakfast area and pool is overlooking the ocean. Rooms are pretty with a decent bed and very clean, - they are cleaned every day, and the staff is really kind, helpful and speak English well. The local bus stops right outside the hotel. It only runs 4 times a day, so make sure to check the time table. A ticket to Fira is €2,5. If you are catching the early morning bus you will have to skip breakfast, but they will still let you grab what ever is ready early (bread, eggs, fruit, coffee). Tip: if you want to go somewhere new one day, but aren't up for a long busride, get on the cute little touristy train. It goes between Perissa and Vlychada, and a round trip ticket is €8 and valid for 4 hours. From Perissa you can catch a small boat to Kamari, or hike the mountain up to Ancient Thira. The local beach is spectacular! People come from other parts of the Island to visit this particular beach with its dramatic cliffs and black volcanic sand. It is sometimes referred to as Moon Beach, and you can go horseback riding on it. There is a little mini market at the harbour that sell most things, even fresh strawberries, but you can also buy water from the hotel at the same price as in the mini market. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is nice and quiet. And after having been on tours to the very crowded Fira and Oia, it was a relief to get back to this nice little oasis that we had almost entirely to ourselves. We will definitely consider coming back.

We had a wonderful stay as a family of four during April. The location is peaceful and convenient, just steps from a beautiful beach, family-run taverns, and the marina. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the daily breakfast with fresh coffee was a treat. The pool was a highlight for our kids, and the entire staff, especially Dimitris and Kiki, made us feel so welcome. A perfect base for exploring Santorini, away from the crowds. Highly recommended!

What a lovely place to stay. The owner Kiki and her family were so kind. The villa over looks the small fishing harbour which is beautiful. The rooms are nice and well air conditioning and we had an amazing sunset view. The breakfast was different each day and there were eggs and cereal too. The terrace serves evenings g cocktails and beers and other drinks. There are four main restaurants in the area, 2-3min walk. We shall definitely come back here !

Porto Villa in Vlychada was fantastic! The staff was welcoming and very friendly, the rooms were spacious with a balcony with a nice view, and the pool was perfect for relaxing. The view og the harbor from Porto Villa was nice, and Vlychada beach, which is very close by, is excellent. A great experience all around - highly recommended :-)

Porto Villas Hotel - SantorinI I recently had the pleasure of spending three unforgettable nights at Porto Villa Hotel in Santorini. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the hotel’s stunning location across from the marina, offering breathtaking views of the sunset every evening. The picturesque scenery was like something out of a postcard, providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and romantic getaway. The hotel’s breakfast was a delightful highlight of our stay. Each morning, we were treated to a delicious and varied spread that catered to all tastes. Freshly baked pastries, a selection of fruits, local delicacies options ensured we started our days in the best possible way. Enjoying breakfast on the porch while soaking in the beautiful views was an experience we looked forward to every day. What truly set Porto Villa Hotel apart, however, was the exceptional service provided by the staff. Kiki, Nasia, Elini, Tania, Rushka, and Antony went above and beyond to make our stay special. Their warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care for guests made us feel incredibly welcome and valued. Whether it was offering insightful recommendations for local attractions, arranging transportation, or simply ensuring our comfort, their dedication was evident in everything they did. Our room was immaculate and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail and the commitment to cleanliness were evident throughout.

We had a 7 days stay in Porto Villa that is located in Vlychada, south of Santorini. The village is nothing that you will expect - very little tourists, empty streets and quiet place with a very beautiful beach and amazing restaurants very close by. If you prefer those settings, Porto Villa is your best option. You can then take a bus to other places (the bus stop is right at the front of the accomodation) or you can easily borrow a scooter or a quad or a car at the reception and visit the crowded areas of the island. You can also easily book a boat trip at the reception as well. The beach is 5-8min of walking from the accomodation. Two things stood out the most: Having a breakfast or a night drink at the terrace with the view of the sea and the dock. Second one being the room service, which was truly amazing. Its a small detail but we had clean towels changed every day. Sheets similarly. The climatization in the rooms is also very good. In general, we had a very pleasant experience and its a beautiful place to stay at.
