Rosewood Little DIX Bay

The Rosewood Little Dix Bay exceeded expectations. It was a true luxury resort with a service level that was unmatched in the area. The service was anticipatory, but not at all pushy. Breakfast was a giant spread each morning, and the food at the restaurants was exceptional. It was well designed, beautifully manicured, and never seemed crowded. The spa gets top marks. I would happily return very soon, and all the other guests we interacted with had the same feeling.

Another fantastic experience at Little Dix Bay, Virgin Gorda We have visited Little Dix Bay many, many times since 1992. However, this was our first visit since the hurricane and renovation. We started visiting as a young couple, then with our young daughter and continuing with our daughter until this most recent trip, she is now in her mid-twenties. We reserved the Two Bedroom Beachfront Suite and stayed 11 nights. The Resort: The resort has always been amazing and through time, has continued to be even more amazing. Every person, every aspect, every service, every product and every consideration is 5 Star. We had two very accommodating, very professional Butlers: Arjai & Reddy. They were incredibly responsive, knowledgeable and fulfilled every request we made of them. Eric Gonzalez is the Resort Manager. Eric is the epitome of professionalism, competency and is extremely personable and social. More about Eric later. We enjoyed the great food of the Reef House. The Reef House is new since the renovation, replacing the old beach grill. The food is excellent, and the ambiance is very nice and in keeping with the surroundings. Marcus is the wonderful Manager of the Reef House and is the consummate host, always making sure we were taken care of…as well as a being a great singer. The Sugar Mill has been transformed from its past and offers a diverse menu of delectables. Sam is the ever doting Manager and appears to have one mission: ensure every guest is completely happy with the culinary and service offerings. Of course, the iconic Pavilion is still in place and Kelbert is the Manager and manages it with the same zeal that the others do, whether its ensuring the buffet is always provisioned, the services remain top notch, or simply ensuring every guest is happy. The Two Bedroom Beachfront Suite: We had almost always stayed in the traditional One Bedroom Beachfront Suite and it was my belief that the new two bedroom version would have simply been the same as before with another room. I was very wrong. The two bedroom suite is amazing. The bedrooms are large, the bathrooms and dressing areas generous and well thought out, the living room, dining area, and wet bar are all very inviting and comfortable. All of the accoutrements are top notch. And, it’s still only a few steps (literally) from the beach! The Storm: During our stay, Tropical Storm Ernesto developed. The resort began preparations and communications with its guests as it was forecasted to be heavy rain and wind. The forecasters timing appeared to be on target with an evening arrival on Virgin Gorda with rain and building winds. We were enjoying dinner in the Pavilion, along with a number of other guests, when Ernesto struck. However, Ernesto hit with many times greater forces of wind and rain than had been expected. My wife and I, our two young children (5 & 2), and my mother & father-in-law stayed at Rosewood BVI for 5 nights at the beginning of December. We were SUPER excited to stay and certainly had very high expectations coming into the trip given all of the 5-star reviews, the $1500+ a night price tag, the fact it is a Rosewood property which we have loved when we have stayed at them before, and the incredible location in the BVI. Overall, I wish I could get the rating of 3.5 stars, and if not for the price tag and very high expectations, it certainly could be a 4.5 star review. But I must explain the good and the bad for others to hopefully understand what we found extremely frustration and hopefully for Rosewood LDB BVI management to consider looking how to change moving forward, to make sure it is the world-class resort it intends to be and I'm sure can be. The main Great / Good components: - Incredible property with privacy, amazing scenery, and a perfect beach and bay to enjoy on a vacation, whether you're a couple or friends or a full family that is staying. - Top quality restaurants and food is very important to us, and overall this place does an amazing job with it's dining options - The Ocean View Jr King Suites ($1500+ a night for us) are AMAZING... definitely a top notch room in all sense of the word - Awesome & complimentary kids club - Extremely friendly staff that certainly tries to be helpful with the guests needs, some of whom go above and beyond a normal hotel staffer to help you with your requests Now to the very frustrating parts of our stay: 1. The continual issue that we had was with our butlers or occasionally other staff seemingly forgetting about us or one of our requests. Many times they were on it and great, but it’s not a resort that is easy “self service”. We often needed a golf cart ride because of the distance we would otherwise be walking (w children or w the grandparents) and it just seemed to be a poorly laid out system of how to get rides quickly around the property. At other spread out resort properties they have figured out much better systems to keep guests from waiting or getting frustrated having to follow up multiple times to get a ride. 2. Another terrible experience was waiting 45 minutes at 10am when we got to the beach, to find anyone that could get us a drink or towel, or beach toys for our kids. Some stuff we eventually just got ourselves. We finally had our butler Mikel come down who told us the issue was a “10am all staff meeting” for beach employees. We had been ringing the call button and trying to find someone and then hear this and think it will only be a couple of minutes more. But no, we wait 45 mins where at any 5 star hotel you can’t take every employee out of doing service at 10am when you’re a beach focused property! The service, the treatments, the location, the whole experience is always consistent and wonderful. The team always remember me when I come back which is so sweet. I often travel from Tortola as a little treat to myself! Cannot recommend enough

We are just finishing a six night stay in a beachfront cottage and it was such a great trip. The service was fabulous from Javid our butler who greeted us upon arrival and was always around when we needed him to Lucy at the beach taking care of our daily needs to Nadia in the restaurants always greeting us with a smile and a welcome. I cannot say enough great things about the service here as they all made us feel so special all the time. All three restaurants were great as we experienced them all. The seafood was so fresh and flavorful but don’t be fooled as their steaks were divine also and we are from Texas so we are picky. We enjoyed the beach daily as only steps from our room. We did a beach drop to Maya beach over by the Baths and it was great. We also scheduled a private sailing boat the hotel at Bowline Charters and it was a great day with high winds. They took us to Cooper island and we snorkeled with the turtles and fish and followed up with a great lunch beachside If you are looking to chill out for a few days and enjoy a great people, good food and excellent service then the Rosewood Little Dix Bay is your place. As we all can get better just a few tips to improve. No robes in room upon arrival. Fridge was broken entire trip so had temp one sitting on floor entire time. And some firmer pillows would be great. .

My wife and I both had treatments at Sense. Yaya was awesome. So kind, thoughtful, and professional. Definitely the best massage treatment I’ve experienced. The setting with the crashing waves and ocean breezes only made it that much better. I wouldn’t change a thing. Perfection.
