Super 8 by Wyndham Vincennes

Horrible - room was nasty. Mushroom growing from around base of toilet because of all the moisture from toilet leaking. Ants were in soda from being on desk all night.

I travel over 100 days a year for my job and stay exclusively in Wyndham properties, so I review each one. The parking lot was clean and well lit on arrival. The pool is closed and apparently has been for some time. Check in went smoothly. My room, a queen single, was clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows. Of the stated amenities, some were in place, such as the microwave and small refrigerator, there was no coffee maker. The hotel has a luggage cart. My air conditioner/heater worked well. The television had a small selection of channels but a good picture. The breakfast area was clean and they kept bringing fresh items. The snack machine was empty, the soda machine is $1.50, and is cash only. Issues: no housekeeping on a stayover, no smoke detector in the room, one of the lights didn't work and the dresser drawer front literally came off in my hand. It's a clean enough hotel but appears to have maintenance issues.

Did not like this place, the back door to the motel was open to entry by anyone cause there was no latch on it. Anyone could walk right in. The window latch lock was not on the window, they just had a piece of wood to keep the window from opening.

Beyond Filthy and refused to make it right. I NEVER leave bad reviews bc I know things happen and places have bad days but it's a safety issue & since they refused to make it right or refund our stay I'm sharing so that others might be aware. We checked in around 5 brought up our bags & left to visit family & go out for dinner. The room was in rough shape (bathroom door warped, the hotel & room had a musty odor, and it was obvious the place wasn't swept because there were food remnants on the floor) but for the price we were willing to deal with it until we got the kids ready for bed, pulled back the sheets & found LITERAL POOP on the sheets.... that was the final straw. We packed our stuff, left and my husband went down to talk to the staff about them making it right. No refund, not even an offer to change the sheets.... I have never experienced anything like that and I used to work in hotels for 10 years.

We normally do not stay at Super 8 properties but didn't have a choice as other hotels were booked solid. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot I knew this was not going to be a good experience. There were dirty diapers in the parking lot and the window blinds were askew in multiple rooms. We booked three rooms and before we unpacked we inspected all three rooms, the first room smelled of heavy cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room, the second room smelled of urine and the third room wasn't even ready even though we were at the proper check-in time. The indoor pool was so cloudy you couldn't see the bottom; not a good sign. Luckily, the manager gave us a refund. Do not stay at this property.

Do not make a reservation at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Vincennes, Indiana! In fact, do not make a reservation using the Super 8 by Wyndham website as there is no guarantee they will honor the rate of your confirmed reservation. My experience: In April 2023 I made a reservation for April 2023 (a full year in advance) at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Vincennes. The reservation was made via the Super 8 by Wyndham website for 2 rooms for 1 night at a rate of $76/night /room plus tax for a total of $172 for the stay. I promptly received a confirmation for my reservation. Everything’s settled and great right? Then in July 2023 (a full 12 weeks after my reservation was made, accepted, and confirmed) I received a call from Super 8 by Wyndham stating that they were no longer going to honor the rate for our confirmed reservation and that we had the option of accepting a new rate of $300/night/room plus tax (vs the prior $76) or canceling our rooms. In our case this is a 400% increase in room rate 12 weeks after the reservation was made, accepted, and confirmed! Our total bill for the 2 room 1 night stay would increase from a total of $172 to a total of $678. So, I guess Super 8 by Wyndham sees they have a big event in the area where price gouging is allowed and they throw their other customers under the bus! I find this unethical that Super 8 by Wyndham makes commitments as a business and then will not honor them. This is a reflection on the Wyndham corporation! Again, based on my experience do not make a reservation at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Vincennes! In fact, do not make any reservation using the Super 8 by Wyndham website as there is no guarantee they will honor the rate of your confirmed reservation.

I have stayed at this hotel 25 times over the past 20 years. I have high expectations based on my experience and everything was great on this visit. Always very good check-in and check-out service. Hotel, lobby, room and bathroom are very clean. Towels and sheets are in good condition. Rates are very good. Hotel is quiet,

Cigarette Burns on the bedding. Dirt and yellow stains on the sheets. Said there was a continental breakfast but there was not. There was stale cereal a toaster but no bagels or bread. Watered down waffle batter that would not even turn into a waffle just a burnt crispy char as soon as it hit the waffle maker. No fruit, no yogurt, no milk no tea… The pool was very cloudy so we decided to skip it. Very disappointing.

I booked 3 weeks in advance & requested first floor near entry (traveling w/ 90 year old w/ walker & heart condition). On arrival was told all they had w/ 2 beds were on 2nd floor. They had a single on 1st floor and if we needed another bed we would need to pay for a 2nd room. We carried 90 YO up the stairs and by the time we got to the room, I thought she was having a heart attack. She rested and about 30 min. felt better. Also, when we got in the room there were (3) wasps near ceiling, which freaked out my wife, who's dad died after being stung by wasps. I killed the wasps w/ a bath towel & then noticed the window was open 16" w/ no screen. I shut window to keep out more insects. I will NEVER stay here again after this experience.
