Mountain Whisper

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at mountain whisper. The amenities and speciousness in our accommodation were very comfortable and clean. The views over the mountains were outstanding, most of all, we really enjoyed the pure serenity of the area. All the staff were most friendly and helpful. And to Sonia, thank you for making our stay such a success!

I have loved my stay at Casa Carlos. The apartment is just wonderful, very clean, decorated with excellent taste, great views, and excellent facilities (the warmed floor is a very welcome touch, especially in the Winter season). The staff were also very kind and always available to help. I loved the atmosphere of the village, although it seemed a bit more of a "labyrinth" when comparing to other Schist villages in the region, and there really isn't a separation between villagers houses and the guests houses, which decreases a little bit the sense of privacy one might expect from this type of tourism, although nothing to be overtly concerned about. Only points for improvement in my opinion are: - Breakfast: it would be great if instead of using supermarket products, management would think of establishing deals with local producers to provide fresh local products. It's not that the breakfast was awful, but the bread, cheeses and drinks were not as good as one might expect. Juices in particular were clearly "boxed" juices, which are not as appealing as natural ones. - Parking availability: It is very difficult to find a parking spot in the entry of the village, and even though there is a parking facility in the village, it's not nearly big enough to fit all guests. - The air conditioner box for Casa Carlos is placed in the room balcony, which makes a constant and annoying sound, therefore defeating the purpose of calmness that the scenery around suggests. Fortunately the isolation of the room is pretty good, which made the issue less difficult to handle in sleeping hours, but in our case, as we enjoyed the view and wanted to spend more time in the balcony, it became a bit of an annoyance. These are the only points I find that could have made our stay even more pleasurable, however, I have to say that none of these made us not to want to return, so whenever we decide to spend some more time in Serra da Lousã, we will surely return to Mountain Whisper (although we may choose a different house, due to the previously mentioned issues with the noise air conditioner).
