Mariahilf Citycenter Hotel

Lage sehr günstig, direkt an der U-Bahnstation Gumpendorfstraße und Straßenbahn- und Buslinien. Das Gebäude wirkt ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, trotzdem sauber. Zimmerausstattung ohne Fernseher und nur eine Steckdose weit entfernt vom Bett. Ansonsten ruhige und angenehme Lage.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights, we had room 206 on the second floor. This is perhaps one of the most budget hotels in the city, and it would seem that for that kind of money it would be stupid to complain about anything, but no! Unfortunately, I had to write this review because there were some things in our room that were not acceptable. The furniture in the room was broken, namely the wardrobe and table, the window curtains were torn, and there were black marks on the white walls. In the bathroom, the toilet was broken and water was constantly flowing and sometimes at night it made it difficult to fall asleep, the door handles in the shower were broken on both sides, the holder for the shower tube was also broken, and the most important thing that brought us the greatest discomfort was that the sink in the bathroom was filled with some kind of garbage, namely cigarette butts, noodle remains and other garbage, and naturally an unpleasant smell came from there and we could not use it. Of course, I contacted the front desk for help, but in response I only heard an apology and nothing more. No action was taken by the administration before our departure. I understand that the hotel is located in an old building, and everything inside of the hotel is also old, but at least it can all be kept in good condition, and the walls in it can at least be painted, it doesn't involve large expenses.

Firstly, the pictures on the booking sites are very deceptive - they obviously show the much better rooms (if they even exist) The room is a decent size, as is the bathroom & it is very cheap! (Averaging €35 a night for 2 people) positives stop there - The room is like a sauna, as soon as we walked in we were hit with this wall of heat (It was -2 outside & we still had to sleep with 2 windows open), the curtains were hanging off the poles, the main light had 2 out of 5 bulbs working, 1 bedside lamp (which looked like it was purchased from a charity shop), 1 pillow per person (I think it was actually a cushion inner based on the size), the beds were extremely soft & quite low to the ground. The Wi-Fi did work which I suppose is a bonus based on other reviews. The genuinely truthful bit is the location, less than 2 minutes walk from the nearest tram & underground, the main station is around a 10 minutes walk, there is a (chargeable) cash machine, DM & Spar a 2/3 minute walk on the next street over as well
