My sister and I had a wonderful experience! The attention to detail created an extremely relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is purely delightful! The location is great for access to the Cabot trail. Rooms and bed are comfortable. I highly recommend making dinner reservations for at least one night.

Our room was perfect. It was quiet and well decorated. I just loved the Inn and screened porch. The seven course meal was absolutely amazing, as was breakfast. Kudos to the chef and for our excellent host. Thank you!

The room was great. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious! You get to order what you want from a menu, and they make it immediately. The host is friendly and helpful. The screened-in porch is comfortable and peaceful. You can make a reservation for dinner if you want to, and we would highly recommend that you do that. The food was excellent. Our time there was relaxing and peaceful. We couldn’t find anything negative to say about our visit. We are grateful we stayed there. You will be too.

Chanterelle Inn & Cottages truly stole our hearts. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well cared for. Tucked away in a quiet stretch of Cape Breton, this place combines comfort, culinary excellence, and natural beauty in the most memorable way. We stayed in one of the standalone cottages, and it was perfect — clean, quiet, and incredibly cozy. The views from the front porch were stunning, with sweeping greenery and open sky. Unlike many other spots on our trip, the Wi-Fi was fast and consistent, which made it easy to stay connected when we wanted to. The food was a highlight of our entire Nova Scotia adventure. Dinner was an extraordinary 8-course tasting menu prepared by Chef Bettina, with every dish thoughtfully created and beautifully presented. Breakfast the next morning was just as delicious — we especially loved the cottage potatoes, which were crispy and packed with flavour. A huge thank-you to Holger, who was both our server and wine expert. His wine pairings were spot on and his kind, knowledgeable presence made each course feel even more special. Another unforgettable touch? Sitting on the inn’s covered porch, where hummingbirds zipped past us, adding charm and tranquility to the already serene setting. We left Chanterelle feeling refreshed, inspired, and full — in every sense. A true treasure we’ll be recommending to everyone heading to Cape Breton. ⸻

A Culinary and Coastal Treasure on the Cabot Trail Our stay at Chanterelle Inn & Cottages was one of the absolute highlights of our Nova Scotia trip. Tucked along the breathtaking Cabot Trail, this place offers far more than just accommodations — it’s a full sensory experience. We stayed in one of the cozy cottages, which offered not only privacy and comfort but also an amazing view of the surrounding landscape. It was the perfect place to unwind. And unlike many other stops on our journey, the internet connection was strong and reliable, which was a welcomed surprise. The dining experience was next-level. We were treated to a spectacular 8-course dinner crafted by Chef Bettina, whose dishes showcased fresh, local ingredients and incredible creativity. Each course was a delight. Breakfast the next morning was equally delicious — do yourself a favour and try the cottage potatoes! Adding to the charm was Holger, our gracious server and wine sommelier, who guided us through the wine pairings with expert knowledge and warm hospitality. One of our favourite peaceful moments was sitting on the covered porch of the inn, where hummingbirds flitted about, adding a magical touch to the serene setting. Between the warm hosts, unforgettable food, cozy accommodations, and beautiful natural surroundings, Chanterelle Inn is a true Cape Breton gem. We’re already dreaming of coming back.

My wife, a friend and I spent 5 glorious nights in the Cabot Trail woods at this renamed Chanterelle RESTAURANT, Inn and Cottages before the start of the Celtic Colours Festival in October, 2024. Our rooms in the Inn were large and comfortable and the public rooms downstairs were perfect to unwind with a cocktail and a Nova Scotian wine in the evenings. There was a wide choice of excellent healthy and hearty breakfast options each morning. But first and foremost, this Inn should be considered a destination restaurant that serves only 4 and 7 course dinners from its remarkable, highly-trained Chef. We each had the 7 course dinner three times during our stay: each night's menu was totally different and each deserving of a Michelin star. We loved the taste and presentation of each different dish every night. In different forms, the fresh-from-the-sea scallops may have been our consensus favorites but each dish was memorable. This is an experience to be repeated as often as possible!

We had a wonderful stay at Chanterelle this past weekend. We love the tastefully decorated and quiet rooms. In the morning, we enjoyed the breakfast room especially the covered patio outside. The sound of nature was just incredible. What brought us the most joy was the friendly staff at the inn. We had such great memories despite the short stay. Would definitely come back!

Ok no AC, but a minor thing on the enjoyment scale: but, they are sorting that minor niggle 😁. Room was great. Hosting was superb. Breakfast 😋. The tasting menu was excellent (can’t find an emoji for that), yes I meant the ‘e’ word. If you get a chance to stay here and eat, then you will form a great memory, it will be a worthwhile experience. I can say no more. Drop Mike and best wishes.

We stayed at Chanterelle for four nights in one of the cottages. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Comfortable bed, functional kitchen, lovely view of the river and bay from our small deck. Very quiet and private. Enjoyed our one dinner there, a tasting menu that was set up to offer a meat, pescatorian or vegetarian full meal. We went for the fish and all four courses were delicious. Only complaint: only Nova Scotian wines are available with the meals.
