Our stay at Veronetta House was pretty disappointing, and the response from the team (specially Filippo) was even worse. First off, we found someone else's shoes under the bed, which shows the cleaning was definitely lacking. Then, the shower water was all over the place—hot one minute, cold the next. When we brought this up, they casually said, “basically, no one has died if the hot water didn’t work for a few minutes,” which is just ridiculous. One night, one of the lights in our room turned on by itself twice, waking us up. And the minibar? Yeah, that didn’t work either. They said they couldn’t replace it in just two days and that it shouldn’t matter that it was October. But honestly, it should work no matter what month it is. Plus, I find it unbelievable that they pointed out we “aren’t staying in a five-star hotel” as an excuse for their lack of attention to detail. I also think they need to soundproof the rooms better. We could hear coughing, footsteps, and even conversations from the room above us, which made it hard to sleep. What frustrated us the most was their response. They claim to handle issues like a five-star hotel would, but their reply was just condescending, rude and didn’t really address our concerns. It definitely doesn’t reflect a place that tries to provide good service. I get that it’s not a luxury hotel, but basic expectations for cleanliness and comfort should always be met. I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially with the poor customer service we experienced.
