Hotel Gianni Franzi

Nice hotel with friendly staff :) A lot of stairs to get to the room,but we did not mind. The breakfast is served with an amazing seaview! Clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel also have a really good restaurant and cafe at street level. They also helped us to book trekking cards with a discount.

Hotel Gianni Franzi in Vernazza was our personal experience of the five villages in the Cinque Terre region and definitely the prettiest. We stayed there three nights. It was very picturesque and we got to take advantage of this beauty by having a balcony off our room. The staff were very helpful in carrying some of our luggage up the 138 steps to our accommodations. The breakfast buffet was lacking nothing in the way of typical breakfast foods and we ate them on the terrace while enjoying the view of the Mediterranean Sea. Thank you staff of Hotel Gianni Franzi for making our Cinque Terre visit so memorable!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Vernazza. We had a wonderful Sea View double room. Not sure that there is more than 1 or 2 of this room category ? Be prepared for stairs in Vernazza generally but particularly Gianni Franzi. There were more than 100 + stairs from the hotel reception at ground level to the entryway to the hotel. From here there was another 3 flights of a tight spiral staircase. Thankfully they had a young man carry our bags up because I don’t think I could do it. Unfortunately we had to carry them down & this was more than challenging to say the least. Breakfast is served on a beautiful deck overlooking the ocean. Views are exceptional. Breakfast supplies are plentiful but basic. Pastries, bread rolls, basic cereal, yoghurt, ham, salami & cheese. “Juice” is fruit drink / cordial not squeezed juice. No toast available & no fresh fruit. I would stay again but be prepared for the physical challenges. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Very good Italian restaurant at the main plaza of Vernazza. Ligurian specialty Trofie Pesto (see picture) was excellent excellent and so were the pulpo stew, sea bream (baked fish) and caprese. Ate here twice. Nice souvenir shops around the resto.

Wonderful place with great views. Room was great and close to great restaurants. View at breakfast was unbeatable. Wish we could have stayed longer. We went to every village in Cinque Terre and this was our absolute favourite. We will definitely stay here again when we come back (and we absolutely will)

Nice room located at the top of the mountain next to the breakfast terrace with a nice view. Experience walking from the pedestrian street up to the house. Try to get a room with a balcony and a view.
