Hotel Pallanza by LVG Hotel Collection

Outdated, tired with no more than 3star hotel amenities,service, and equipment in the rooms.TV didn't work properly, no restaurant in the hotel,,no kettle to make a cup of tea in a room Basic breakfast with not much choice and unpleasant girl Angela with not much of customer service skills.Would only recommended for max one stay if you stuck.The reception stuff are very nice ,went out of the way to sort the problems and make our stay bit more comfortable. We wanted to finish our trip through Italy with a nice and luxurious place, so we booked this 4 star hotel. It turned out to be the worst one we had. You can tell this once was a place filled with luxury, but unfortunately that was something from the past. The hotel is definitely in need of renovation. The rooms are old and outdated. Not classic in a charming way, but things are just broken down and worn off. The mattress was really sagging what gave us the feeling of rolling out of bed. The minibar isn't being refilled and the bathroom was a bit smudgy. Don't be fooled by their website. They won't let you choose a scent and you want get a pillow menu by entering the hotel. By addressing the sagging mattress the solution was to turn it around, since there wasn't really a problem according to them. At the breakfast there was a lot to choose from. Not very fresh and not of a good quality but the variety was really nice. If you order coffee or cappuccino they will make you a really good one. The coffee was for sure the best thing of the hotel! Also most of the people working at the hotel were really nice and friendly as well. Especially the two men at the breakfast. The location of the hotel is perfect. We booked a room on the lake side. The view was stunning, this is a great benefit as well.

We chose Pallanza over Intra when deciding where to stay The hotel is on a quiet street facing the lake so easy for swimming so this is a huge positive There is a Bar / Restaurant beside hotel which has seats so a nice place for a coffee or drink or food but reports were food was average here The ferry stop is literally 100 m from front door to go island hopping so very convenient Hotel rooms seem varied in size We had a lake view which was nice 4 floors so go to highest if possible We were a room on first floor Staff are friendly and helpful My only BIG complaint is the Air conditioning is only operational in June , July & August which seems a little ridiculous when it was 29 degrees on October 1st If had said this on *********** but i had missed this As lake view rooms face lake they get extremely hot during day I would suggest that they leave shutters shut during day either before you arrive or that the cleaner closes after cleaning or you will return to a furnace every evening It was regularly like a furnace ! We were a very large group here for a wedding and everyone said the same thing Charge a little more and provide Air Con especially when temperature is over 22 degrees outside Rooms were quiet but a little noise can be heard from street if you are on first floor There are 3 options for Parking . Pay €20 a night right beside hotel , free open carpark a short walk away or free on street parking if you can find any Overall it was an enjoyable stay in Hotel Pallanza
