Where to begin? First, in a room of 6 adult males, 1 toilet roll was provided for a 6 day stay. When asked for additional rolls (a basic amenity in any establishment) we were initially told that the nowhere in the entire hotel, with all of its rooms, had any spare, but had they any spare, we would be provided extra. The manager then corrected her receptionist and told us that it wasn’t policy to provide additional toilet roll, and we were turned away. Staff seemed to be inexperienced when asked simple questions and were in conflict in relation to this specific circumstance. In the same sentiment, the group was given only two room keys which was a huge inconvenience throughout the stay. The sauna, steam room and pool services were sub-par; the amenities were rarely available and cold when we did have the chance to test them. Impressively, their locker system was worse. Each individual locker was locked via a combination lock, with the code found on a sticker on the backside of the locker door. It quickly became apparent that each consecutive combation was one integer more than the last, evidently placing our belongings at risk of theft. General cleanliness throughout the hall as well as the room was poor. Shower caulk had been neglected which resulted in mould forming around the base of our shower and the ceiling above our balcony doors had collapsed to the point that debris scattered the already-cramped living room floor. Hallways were more-often-than-not littered with plastic and stains both on the floor and up the walls. Most alarming however were the policies plastered on posters around the hotel. Insignificant human error was punishable by unreasonably harsh fines, such as the €70 fines for failing to take out bin bags - of which we again were provided only one - an €800 fine for walking inside the building whilst wearing snow boots, or the €150 fine for merely smelling of tobacco or other substances - a ludicrous restriction to impose on any person besides the vagueness of the term ‘other substances’ and the subsequent use of their self-appointed discretion to bring one to question for a mere smell.
