We recently stayed in a twin room at a&o Venezia Mestre, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.
Firstly, the air conditioning in our room was non-functional. Despite bringing this to the attention of the reception, the only response we received was that they would address it in the future/tomorrow. This lack of immediate assistance is unacceptable, especially for a company that claims operating in multiple countries yet fails to provide maintenance support after office hours. We noticed others at the reception also complaining about the AC, which indicates that this is a widespread issue. Checking all reviews, we found that similar complaints have been made in the past.
Additionally, we encountered problems with the bathroom drainage; water was stagnant, making it quite unpleasant. There was also some dust in the room, which made it feel less clean than we had hoped.
The quality of the bedding was another letdown. The pillows were not comfortable, very light, and insufficient, while both the bed and bedsheets felt low quality, and heavily used. To add to our frustrations, the remote control only worked inconsistently.
On a positive note, the location is conveniently close to the Mestre train station and bus stops, which makes it easy to explore the area.
It has a common kitchen and refrigerators on the Ground floor, which could be a plus for some guests, but during the summer, what we truly needed was a good bed and a comfortable temperature to sleep—both of which this accommodation failed to provide.
Overall, we cannot recommend a&o Venezia Mestre based on our experience, unless these issues are resolved in the future.
