Camping Sandaya Le Blue Bayou

Had a Premium 2 bed, 2 bathroom Carmin cottage for 6 nights having broken down in motorhome, so not the holiday we had planned. Spotlessly clean on arrival. Quite as UK school holidays were over. Towels and bedding clean and white. A/C and dishwasher were a useful addition. Bed very comfy and great shower. Outside was pleasant, partially covered decking area with patio chairs, large table and sun beds if wanted. Shop was adequate for morning bread and croissants. All amenities were easily walked to on the flat for those with possible mobility problems. Nice pools. Only negative a tea towel would be a help despite the dishwasher, tall glasses and take mosquito repellent as lots of insect bites.

My stay was ok but not 5 star worthy. We rented a Chalet for 10 days. Upon arrival the staff at reception was friendly. The only English speaking staff is at reception everyone else speaks only French. Our chalet rental was very small, in fact it was the same size as a tiny house, so not worth €2,800 for 10 days! Our unit was not clean, there was sand all over the floor and in my son’s room there was a dirty sock under the bed and a pen. The faucet in the kitchen was loose, we did tell them and someone came and fix the faucet. Since my unit was not clean it did make me irritated that I had to pay €125 cleaning fee. I watched as the people left their unit across from us, the 2 women cleaning spent 10 minutes in the unit and left. They never took a vacuum in the unit and only had a bucket with two spray bottles. We had a sofa but it was broken, when you sat on it, it wiebeld. There are only 8 washing machines on site and they are always busy! I spent 3 days trying to get an empty washer but never could get one. Sandaya shut the washing machines off at 8pm there are no signs telling you this they just do it without warning. They turn them back on at 9 am. Signed my son up for some activities, there was no value for the money. In the app it said kids could quad for 2.5 hours in reality it was 20 minutes! Lazer gaming was also 30 min but in the app said 2 hours. Staff is always riding around in golf carts and they drive way to fast. At night security drives around with one very bright light that blinds you and they can’t be bothered to slow down almost always barely missing running you over or your dogs! The onsite grocery is very small but the pictures make it look big. There is an older woman who is incredibly rude. She screamed at my son that he was wet and said he could not come in the store when in reality he hadn’t been swimming yet he just had a bathing suit on, we were just trying to get him different sandals since had blisters on his feet. Upon entering the swimming area there are child gates, but lot’s of wasps. You have to walk through swarming wasps to get to the pool. The worst area was the adults only pool. Way to many wasps. I was stung three times. The sing on my forehead is still a hard ball days later. Drinks at the bar are very overpriced! Food is ok but also overpriced for what it is. Overal it was an ok stay but not 5 star worthy.

Warning do not use this company. They promise the world only to ruin your holiday. Customer service is non existent. We are waiting for a refund as we did not receive the accommodation paid for after they messed up a booking of 3 caravans. Onsidte customer service was shocking, and head office even worse on our return. . Just send a standar response each time. No number to call. This is never a 5 star site, we have over 20 years staying in here type of resorts and this company are thrives. Do not trust them with your holiday.
