Four Seasons Resort Nevis

Hi, A few items of concern in no particular order… Does anyone have a suggestion of what the hotel should do ie typically apologize /or how to best compensate me for giving me food that is supposed to be gluten-free … but never is! I even asked the waitress and chef to confirm and it was only after dinner that they came out with their cell phone saying “oh no - we made a mistake”. The chef didn’t even apologize just went and took the ticket from the buffet and disappeared for the rest of the evening. I ate this on Friday and I’m still feeling sick Tuesday evening. When we checked in, we asked if we could get an extra bed for the room we were given the height of my kids (and ages ) as the bed situation was really only comfortable for 3 … long story short we were sold an additional room only to find out the day we checked out that the room category could have a rollaway at a fraction of the cost that would have been more than sufficient. I was told roll aways were not an option “at any time at this hotel” by the person who walked us to the room. Believed both staff members - lesson learned - will google next time. I asked for the manager to call me Friday pm regarding the food situation and I’m still waiting to hear 4 days later! We have been before without kids but based on 2 years ago (and this time) the standard were noticeably lower - we will not return. For those on the fence I would lean on Manderin Oriental - better service - attentive staff ..and managers who care! IeCanouan - hands down better! FYI Nevis is beautiful location and views - but the staff at sunshine’s were more professional as a good comparison. We rented a boat for the day and that was amazing - as are the sunsets. Sushi bar at hotel was good as is Mango - reserve ahead for sure.

As a family of four (2 adults, 3yo toddler and 3mo infant) we recently spent 4 nights there over Presidents’ Day Weekend. Overall, I’m giving the resort 4.5 stars. Some items of note: Babysitting service: Through the resort, we hired a babysitter for our infant and she was incredible. Her name was Clare and we hired her every day and even the morning of our departure. She took great care of our little one, including taking him out for walks and even putting him to sleep at night. It allowed us to fully enjoy meals, pool/beach time, and evenings. Highly recommend. Kids club: Our toddler spent a good amount of time at the kids club. Was perfect for us that the minimum age is 3yo. They have a number of scheduled activities that the kids can partake in, and you can even have food delivered onsite for your child to eat. So in the mornings, we could put in a room service order before leaving the room, then her breakfast would arrive at the kids club soon after we got there. Service: As expected for a Four Seasons, the service was top notch. They are extremely responsive, especially through the very convenient phone app. Given we were traveling with our newborn, they provided a number of essentials such as a crib, bottle warmer, bottle sanitizer, pack and play, brand new bottle scrubbers, and diaper pail - all of which were already set up in the room when we arrived. Room: We stayed in an Ocean-Side Room, which is on the 1st floor (all buildings are 2 stories). Since you can’t really see the ocean from a 1st floor room, a Nevis Peak-View room probably would’ve worked just fine. Room was spacious enough to comfortably fit 4 adults (possible 5 if they let someone sleep on the chaise). This is just for illustrative purposes because I don’t believe this type of room can be reserved for 4 adults. The crib fit just fine in the room and the pack-and-play fit well in the bathroom. Our room had an outdoor seating area that gave us additional access to the resort. Scenery/Views: It’s just beautiful everywhere you look, and we even had professional family photos done while we were there (we saw others doing the same). The resort architecture really has a lot of character. Some considerations: Gym: Way too small for a resort like this. Seen much better in basic hotel chains. It kind of looks like a makeshift/temporary set up. I didn’t ask but hopefully they’re building a proper gym suitable for a Four Seasons. Beach: It’s kind of just OK. Not the resort’s fault obviously. Is what it is. Just know that it’s not fine white sand like you’ll find at say Four Seasons Anguilla. Tennis: Very nice tennis courts with incredible views. I didn’t realize there were court fees (admittedly that’s on me). Regardless we played once. But on top of the fee, it’s $20pp to rent a racquet (not demo quality) and then a can of balls is $15. So next time, I’d bring my racquets for sure and perhaps even a can or two of balls if I have the luggage space. I know the Four Seasons isn

I selected this resort because it had a beautiful tennis facility. The facility has two hard courts, 4 Har-Tru clay courts, and 2 artificial turf courts. When I was there the facility had two coaches working with whom you can book private lessons with anytime from 7:30am to 9pm. You can tell them that you just want to rally so you get a good hitting session. I'm a 4.5 NTRP player and both coaches - Angel and Eric - were fantastic players and gave me a great session. Both of them were very friendly on and off the court and I really enjoyed starting every day off playing tennis. Now to discuss the actual resort... I stayed for 12 nights. We did many of the activities and excursions while we were there. Some must do experiences are the private beach dinner and the Spa Under the Stars if you travel with your significant other. The Spa Under the Stars is a private experience in which the entire Spa belongs to you and your partner for the night. It starts off in the locker room where rose petals lead the way to the steam sauna and shower. Then you change into your robes and come out into the garden where your two masseurs await you with glasses of Champagne. A delightful coconut milk foot bath ensues along with a 80 minute massage in the garden under the evening sky. After this, you relax and sit at a beautifully set dinner table and enjoy a private multi-course dinner. We were waited on by a wonderful man named Ravetoli. He was very personable, attentive, and funny - we loved talking with him and got to know him. He really made the dinner special for me and my fiancee. If you are lucky enough to have him, be sure to request some nice cocktails and drinks, as he will make them for you and he is fantastic at it. We were lucky enough to have him wait on us for the private beach dinner as well! After the dinner, the spa belongs to you. You can stay for a few hours and enjoy the cold plunge pool and the outdoor natural stone jacuzzi in privacy with your partner. As you can imagine it's a very intimate and romantic experience. The one caveat I will mention is when you're lounging outside of the pools, be sure to cover up as the bugs WILL find you (mosquitos and no-see-ums). Or use bug spray, lest you spend the rest of the night itchy :) Anyways we did many more experiences like Cooking with Ras Iroy, cupcake decorating, cookie decorating, the Hamilton Tour, the private sunset sail, the snorkeling expedition on the catamaran, TrampoLEAN, and more, and we recommend all of it if you have time in your schedule. With respect to dining experiences, you must make time to visit Bananas restaurant and Drift restaurant, both off the resort. I highly recommend getting there around 5pm so you have time to enjoy the marvelous views at these restaurants. That's it for me, enjoy the resort!

Overall really lovely stay! Loved the views of St Kitts, the long beach to walk, the snorkeling (turtles, rays) right off shore, the monkey tour, and the ability to walk to other nearby beachside restaurants. Staff very kind and helpful. Breakfast buffet lovely. I recommend one night doing a sunset drink on the pier bar, but going offsite for dinner to try local cuisine (Drift, Bananas, Golden Rock).

A lot of things to like at the Four Seasons, but a few issues that I will describe below. First, I have to start the review about the employees at this resort. I have stayed at numerous 5 star Caribbean resorts and the people have always been great. The employees here, however, were a step above. After a few days many knew our names. You literally could not walk past anyone here without a hello, can I help you or how is your trip. Truly amazing staff all over. The rest of the resort is very nice. Unlike one main tall building this hotel is spread out amongst a winding line of two story villas. There are three pools one of which is adult. This set up worked out great for us because we were traveling with college aged children. We received a room near the adult pool and because there were no young kids around even the beach in this spot was quiet and predominantly occupied by adults or college aged kids. This provided a great set up if your not traveling with young children during the holidays. The beach is very nice, the water was calm and beautiful. The hotel had all the necessary amenities including three restaurants for dinner where we had excellent meals, two for lunch (one being a great sushi spot) and we never had a bad meal. There was also live entertainment near the "on the dune" restaurant and lounge each night we were there. We also used the spa which has a nice zen feel with a waterfall and plunge pool. Soild locker rooms and relaxing beds. We had 4 massages, Two were great and the other two about average. Now, unfortunately a few negatives. First, the real reason for my 4 star review (not 5) comes down largely to the rooms. These are not 5 star luxury Four Seasons accommodations. The bathrooms are ancient. The tile is old, the water sensor on the shower wall was coming off the wall whenever we turned on the water and the shower head looked like it was from the 70's. As for the room, the size was excellent. Perhaps the wall paper was new, but overall it was dull and uninspiring. Also, the walls are incredibly thin. We had a connecting room with our kids so it was not an issue, but even with those doors closed we could.hear them clearly at least 50% of the time. If another family was in that room it would have been a problem. Next, the hotel has numerous winding pathways that make its way from one side of the resort to the other. You use them to get everywhere. If anyone from the Four Seasons is reading this its time for repaving. We encountered far too many holes, raised flags, broken cobble stones and cracks that should not exist at a 5 star resort, or even a 4 or 3 star resort. A near trip on a walk back to our room at night was almost a potential trip ending/altering injury. Also, the entry areas into the rooms looked old and tired. Next, you need new beach chairs. I want to thank the Four Seasons for helping us celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a fantastic time. Also, a big shout-out to Debrica who took such good care of us on the beach. She's awesome. Our only small nit was breakfast. Too expensive for what it is, and not at the level of the rest of the hotel. But that is a minor complaint given our overall incredible experience. It is also worth venturing off the property to places like Bananas, Montpelier and Drift for dinner. Each has its own unique and beautiful setting. Easy to get a cab from the bell-person, and a chance to see other parts of Nevis. The drivers give you their card and pick you up when ready to return, and you can bill the trip to your room. Also, a walk down the bach to Sunshine is a must, though the famous Killer Bee was not as strong as advertised. Still, a must have, and Sunny is a great host. Also highly recommend the Native Son cocktail at Monpelier. From the pickup at the airport in St. Kitts to the boat-ride to the hotel to the stay at the Four Seasons and the various trips off property, our anniversary celebration was unforgettable. Also, nice to meet Billy at the Friday cocktail reception. You run a great place. Can't wait to return.
