Daku Resort

Loved my stay at Daku Resort! I spent two weeks there. My first week was a meditation retreat with Susie Spinks (wonderful). I can’t say enough about what a wonderful time I had. If you are looking for a fancy, dress up style resort; you may be disappointed. However, if you are looking for a fabulous location, genuine warmth, hospitality, great service, and amazing food; this is your place!! Everyone is more than willing to help make your stay enjoyable. The views are breathtaking. Town is a short walk away. Right across the street from Daku is wonderful snorkeling and swimming. Snorkeling gear is provided,along with kayaks, at no additional cost. All in all, this is a fun place to be, and I look forward to going back next year!

I loved my stay at Daku Resort. The views from any point in the property are absolutely stunning. The room and the bed I was in was so comfy I was barely able to get out of the room in the morning. The corals just nearby are full of colourful fish, even two steps away from the property. Just borrow snorkeling gear from the reception and go exploring. There’s a small road between the property and the water but barely any cars, feels like a far away hidden paradise, peaceful and quiet, yet to be discovered. If you like me prefer to avoid the crowds and massive tourism locations, this is a true gem!.

The resort and staff are delightful. There was a small plunge pool right on our deck and we had a kitchen too. It is a short walk to town where you can visit the shops and the large outdoor market. We bought fresh fish and vegetables and cooked a delightful meal. The resort has wonderful meals as well, even 4 course dinners. There are also kayaks to use, we kayaked to town one day; such fun! Snorkeling right off the beach in front of the resort was super as well as snorkeling around Split rock which is just down the road a short way.

JJ, Delia, Aubrey, Joe, Peggy, Joshika, Tukai, Saki and all at Daku are life changers after visiting Fiji and their special resort. We had a large group and even though I’m sure we were overwhelming at times, they never made us feel so. There were so many laughs, hugs and genuine connection moments throughout our retreat week. The food was delicious, the space was comfortable, the culture was always present and overall the time spent at Daku was glorious. I was not ready to leave and am already contemplating when I can go back - I will absolutely be staying with JJ and their staff who was like family again.

I have just returned from a beautiful one week "travel sketch tour" at Daku resort in Savu Savu. My trip started "on a high" when I was collected from the airport by one of the staff and greeted by Delia on arrival. I was allocated Bure 1 - next to the main area of the resort - large enough to hold 4 people ( but I had it to myself ) . The bed was decorated with " Bula" and frangipanis - my balcony looked across the lawns of the resort and the water - I spent many lovely moments sitting there admiring the view. During the week we were treated to 3 Kava ceremonies - on arrival , at a local village (with a breath taking display of music and dance) and a farewell. The resort organized a display of basket weaving and the process of obtaining coconut milk - (from the opening of the coconut to the end of the process.) The staff at the resort were delightful - at all times, welcoming attentive and warm - Joe became our guide for trips outside the resort almost every day. My package included 3 meals a day - the food was outstanding - JJ and Delia have secured a local lad - a very talented chef! My last 2 days there included a trip to a waterfall and lounging by the beautiful pool - and Delia and JJ joined us for last delicious dinner. An incredible " ceviche ". I have no hesitation in highly recommending this resort and its staff. I hope to return again soon.

The staff and location are top-notch. You will feel like family and they will make sure that your stay is memorable. We hosted a retreat at Daku and it went over seamlessly. Daku made sure that we had shuttles and taxis whenever we needed them. They assisted us when we wanted to go into town to the club. They also accommodated the many changes that happened and did it with a smile. The staff was always so caring and we appreciated them all so much. The food was amazing and we loved everything that they made us! I cannot wait to get back to Daku. They call SavuSavu "hidden paradise" and it truly is! - Sota Tale from Tara!
