I’ve stayed at Vail Racquet Club four times over the past 4 years. To recap quickly - the unit you get can be in a range from 1 to 5 stars. It’s that inconsistent. The quality of the unit you get is totally based on the unit’s owner. My first three stays were 4 or 5 star quality. Fully stocked units with everything working. Now, onto my current stay. The unit I’m in is not in good shape. It is not worth what Vail Racquet Club charges for it. It’s unfortunate that the unit assigned is luck of the draw when booked through VRC. This is a ONE star stay. The unit is not well lit. There are three lamps in the living area and two light switches that do nothing. You’ll need to turn on at the lamp, and as I mentioned, even with all three on it is dim. On my third day here I tried various outlets and found a plug going to the fireplace plugged into a switched outlet. I moved the lamp to that switch. (And, this power plug is not required for the fireplace to work. I tested it and when plugged in and powered on it does nothing). Picture provided. Space for food items and clothing is VERY limited. There is a pantry with a single shelf. On that shelf are lightbulbs and a can of paint. The single shelf is set high as the pantry is where the owner keeps the broom. (In previous units, the pantry had many shelves free (with the broom placed with the water heater). The shelving in the bedroom closet is filled with bedding for the sleeper sofa severely limiting space for clothes. The pots and pans in this unit are ALL badly scratched with the non stick coating flaking off. How are you expected to cook with pans like these? Picture provided. The hall light switch in this unit is broken. A dish rack wasn’t provided (as it has been in previous stays) meaning I have to dry dishes on towels. Not terrible, but certainly a demerit. The forks/spoons/knives are thrown into a drawer. No organizer. The appliances provided in my first three stays were extensive, in this case it’s minimal. In the bedroom there is a DVD player. Yes, a DVD player. However, it isn’t plugged in. There are only two outlets behind the TV - one being used on the TV, the other the cable box. If you are going to provide a DVD player at least have some sort of outlet spltter so it could be plugged in. On the other hand, on all 4 stays here the Internet provided has been excellent. The staff here is excellent too. As I mentioned at the beginning, I’d say again, but with tempered expectations.
