Never answers phone, kids running and screaming at 10pm every weekend of my 2-3 month stay, internet hiccups constant, doesn’t actually clean the rooms even on their deep clean day. My trash was overflowing. Needed it outside. Watch out for the pothole on the drive in if you have a low car.

Had a room block setup for our Youth Baseball Team, two months prior to our stay. Cheri set this up with us. Gave me a call 4 days prior to our arrival to let us know that their hotel had overbooked and they were canceling our whole block of rooms. Zero help finding something else, she also promised a call from the GM of the hotel and as of 72 hours after the phone call, I haven't received any response. Crazy thing is our whole team stayed at the same hotel two weeks prior. Just displaced 11 families for the weekend without any repercussions for the actions. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

I booked a room directly with the website about a month ahead and after a long drive toward the hotel I get a call at about 8pm saying they overbooked. I was told that they would pay for another hotel, but I had to drive to their hotel to get a printed letter even though they had already set up a new reservation at a different hotel. At 10:00pm when my pregnant wife and 2 year old child finally get there, I was talking to the person at the counter because we had a 2-night stay and the letter only listed 1 night. They said that they would call the other hotel and talk about paying the 2nd night, or contact me if not and that they would pay for me to come back to their hotel for the 2nd night. The 2nd hotel had called them the next day because they never contacted either of us. They message was that the manager that handles that wasn't in that Sunday and that he would call on Monday. So we stayed the 2nd night at the 2nd hotel because we were never informed otherwise. Well, when the 2nd hotel called them AGAIN on Sunday, they said that they were not going to pay and that they would have paid if we came back to the 1st hotel. However the manager never contacted me to inform me of that. They are highly disorganized and do not have respectable business practice. I DO NOT recommend booking here!

I stayed at the TownPlace Suites in Des Moines / Urbandale for one night in late October. Located close to the freeway so getting to the airport for my flight was easy. I used the Bonvoy app to book so I was able to go right to my room without stopping at the front desk. This felt like newer construction and everything looked good. I stayed in room 215, nice big room...just a view of the roof and freeway. The TV was hard to watch from the bed…had it nearly off its stand so I could have a comfortable viewing angle. Small kitchenette (microwave, small fridge, sink, coffee pot). Comes with free breakfast…normal fare. Free parking. Everything you would expect at an appropriate price point.

Solid 7/10. Next to Texas Roadhouse though nothing else really in walking distance. Room clean full fridge with cooktop microwave and dishwasher. Can borrow many things from front desk like crockpot games etc. small indoor pool. Next to freeway. Decent included breakfast eggs cereal sausage toast etc. Free parking. Pay clothes washer/dryer. Everything was ok. Nothing outstanding but a solid 7.

This place is right next to the highway but it is clean, quiet, spacious, reasonably priced and conveniently located near restaurants and gas stations so it would be a great choice for travelers passing through the area.

Not in love with this place. (Especially not at almost $200 per night on a weekend.) Smells like they're filling the hallways with scented sprays to cover up for lack of cleaning. Smudgy fingerprints on every door and handles, and all level surfaces. DIRTY worn-out upholstery on the chair backs in the lobby. Automatic doors not working properly at entrance (needed for pulling in luggage.) Whole first floor has overwhelming pool smell. Yellowjacket wasps in my room. They may as well NOT offer free coffee in the lobby, since it tastes like it was made last month. Management and ownership need to step up, because the cleaning staff are all visible and working HARD. Someone higher up is not supporting them with training or good quality cleaning products, or something. The staff are present, pleasant, and busy.

What a nightmare after a 13 hour drive and looking forward to a relaxing evening. Non personable check in and walked in to a sauna of a room 405. The HVAC was trying but could not get the room below 74 humid degrees. The filter and coils were plugged solid with some sort of yuck and I tried cleaning both to help, pictures can be provided. The window would not fully close so I used a kitchen knife to wedge under the bottom to close the gap a bit. Plastic bag frozen to the bottom of the freezer, vent in the bathroom kept making a rhythmic clanking noise, fan off or on, some sort of device on the wall that would blink a bright green 20 times and then stay on for a period and then go back to blinking. Asked for another room and wanted to inspect it first which for some reason could not be done because there was only one employee there for some reason?? I called Marriott customer service and they were no help. Needless to say we both had a sleepless night listening to the overworked HVAC and that is also how I know the device on the wall blinked bright green, kind of like counting sheep, from not being able to sleep, I did throw a towel over it to soften the strobe effect. We finally gave up early in the AM and got the heck out so we could enjoy the coolness of the vehicle AC and push through to Detroit. The was a debacle of a Marriott stay and I stay at a lot of Marriott properties for work and pleasure. The facility is well past it prime and unfortunately we had to experience this after a long day on the road.

This is a late review from Dec 2021. We spent 4 nights in the hotel, in 2 different periods so 2 different rooms . First 3 nights in a 4th floor room, which definitely seemed nicer and cleaner. For some reason not consistent experience in the 2nd floor room. So speaking for the first nights, we enjoyed very much. Great staff specially management, which were very accomodating for our situation and to the many luggages we had brought. Room is good size and equiped with kitchen for longer stays. We had an issue with AC that was fixed very fast after we let them know. I’d say it is a very good option for travellers in the region.
