Star Inn Hotel

What an awful place. We arrived at 3.30pm and one of our rooms was ready the other we were told would be ready when we returned from our event it wasn't and we had to hunt down 2 quilts from other open rooms. Wanted a shower before we left for the party no hot water and non this morning. Couldn't use the wi-fi because it 'interfered with the till'. We arrived back at 11pm and there were no hotel staff to be found to help with our quilt problem. Don't think anyone lives on site. Is this even legal. Awful

This place seems to be a front for something else. No care or quality at all in the service. Witnessed owner/ manager apologising to a tearful member of staff for pay being several weeks late. Beer ok. Food very unusual to say the least! I was served 20 minutes before my wife and even though we both ordered the roast our meals were totally different. No roast potatoes for my wife- on enquiring was told they had run out, mine were cremated so at a least she wasn’t missing out on much. Cold, over cooked veg- a different selection for each of us , no parsnips, gravy so over seasoned it was inedible. No desert options at all

Staying in Upton upon Severn for a few days and gave The Star a visit. Walked in and the five customers stopped talking! No welcome from the bar staff who spent her time on her phone. Decent drinks but there are much better pubs nearby. Clearly, you have to be known to be welcomed!

As soon as we opened the door to the room you could see it hadn’t been hoovered, cobwebs in lampshade and generally very “tired” Shower had 4 shower bottle lids left in the tray and again shower could do with replacing ! Bed was uncomfortable and was meant to be “Deluxe “ it really wasn’t ! We were also told that there was no option for any breakfast even though they advertised it, no alternative was even offered !

Brilliant stay in such a friendly pub/hotel . Comfy clean room with great hot shower. Good breakfast too. Great location. Many thanks to Stuart and the team and see you next year. From very satisfied Geordies.

Having met Stuart and checked into my comfy room I thought all was well?! However, come morning and time for a shower—hold it right there !—no hot water at all!!!! So, in a hotel the minimum expectations are sleep and some sort of bath/shower-but not freezing!! On checkout I explained to Stuart who left me speechless when he just said well thanks for letting us know—no apologies, no offer of compensation or refund at all!! I won’t be returning
