How low can you go Six Continents Hotels Inc (IHG/Holiday Inn Express)? Before deciding to use 100,000+ points on this recent stay, I was a Diamond Elite rewards member. This was the experience for our stay from 6/12-6/15. The rooms are in need of some serious updating. At $172 plus change, you really should be able to expect a better experience I should think. For that money, you have many other options for lodging in the area. If you look at the pictures of the desk chair and the bench seating we were provided for room 312, you should be asking yourself a question. Would you, as part of the hotel management, be comfortable giving this room, with the condition of its furnishings, to your family? If not, why would you give it to your guests then? We arrived on a Monday afternoon and use the pool and spa. Found these to be well maintained and in pristine condition. Tuesday morning's complimentary breakfast offering was not up to par with others I have had during stays at other IHG properties. We ate at about 8:00am that morning. The oatmeal add-ons (raisins, nuts, etc.) were empty. No biscuits for the biscuits and gravy. Looked around for whomever would be attending to these and could find nobody. Had to have someone from the front desk come and see to things in the breakfast area finally. However, at that point we were ready to leave and could not wait for the biscuits to be made or breakfast bar to be replenished. First time I've ever run into this lack of attention to the hot breakfast offering at an IHG property. When I arrived back home, I found that my credit card had two mysterious charges from Holiday Inn for $20 each. Tried calling the front desk, to get an explanation, on Friday (6/15) throughout the morning and received ring-no-answer on all 8 attempts. Why isn't the front desk phone being answered? Finally reached someone in the late afternoon. Turns out the woman answering my call was the same person who had checked us in when we first arrived. Asked about the charges and she seemed surprised that I had to ask. It was then that she explained to me that the two $20 charges to me credit card were for "room incidentals." According to her, in case "something should come up missing from the room or should we charge something to the room". I asked why I was not informed of this. Said she must have forgot to mention it. Advised her that the IHG website didn't mention it either. No reply from her at that time about that issue existing. She advised me that I should and I better) get it these "room incidental" charges back in 2-3 business days. I have never run into this before at any IHG property I have stayed at. In fact, I've never experienced this sort of charge at any other hotel accommodation I've stayed at during my 45+ years of staying at various hotels. What gives with this property? By the way, the room didn't even have an "honor bar" that a guest might incur these sorts of charges. Why doesn't the IHG website state that this pr
