BE AWARE that reviews on Donner Lake Inn prior to late 2024 are mostly irrelevant as management has changed, and the customer experience has changed with it. There is no sense of welcome or hospitality, and the former common space is no longer available to guests. The dining room/lounge referenced in prior reviews is gone, as are the afternoon snacks and beverages. Beyond the modest “grab ‘n go” breakfast station, the experience is basically a parking place and a room. Ours was a nice enough room, small but cozy, with a gas warming stove and comfortable beds but a dated bathroom. It was also wildly overpriced, but that seems typical of peak-season Tahoe. The location is good, and the charging station is a nice feature.

I stayed here recently on one of the worst snowy weekends in Tahoe! We struggled to find them at first due to our Sat Nav leading us the wrong way but Mary was very helpful and we soon found our way despite the awful conditions. We skied at Sugar Bowl and Northstar which were both easy to reach, and we had dinner in Truckee at a recommendation of Mary & Tino's. Our room was large, clean and inviting and I really liked the sleigh bed and gas fire heater. No bath tub, which I would have loved but Mary's cookies made up for that! I would definitely recommend Donner Lake inn, it's warm and welcoming and perfect for a rest after hard days skiing!

We really enjoyed our stay at Paul and Mindy's beautiful B&B on Donner Lake. The rooms are very nice and clean, with a great little gas heater keeping us warm! Paul and Mindy are the best hosts, taking great care of us with nice snacks and delicious breakfasts, and so fun to talk to! We enjoyed relaxing in the big lounge upstairs and talking with the other guests.

Did not know what to expect for our first B&B stay but it was a wonderful experience! Paul & Mindy are such gracious hosts and the afternoon snack & beverage was a nice opportunity to get to know them a bit better. Breakfasts were delicious, alternating between savory and sweet offerings. The room was nice enough though our bathroom could use an update. Great location, close to the beach and the local ice cream shop. Quiet area which was a welcome change from our previous stay in downtown Truckee. Paul & Mindy were also quite helpful in local dining recommendations too. Saw lots of regular visitors in the guest book, guess we're going to be a regular next year!

Well it is with great pleasure that I write this review of our stay at Donner Lake BnB. Mindy and Paul are the consummate hosts. Friendly, interesting, helpful, kind and you’ll get the biggest bestest yummiest breakfast EVER. The rooms are well appointed, clean and warm (perfect for when the temperatures dropped). The location at Donner Lake is perfect. Easy access to all the winter ski resorts and summer hiking trails without the crowds of Lake Tahoe. Also local restaurants have excellent dinner options. You won’t need lunch. Needless to say we had a wonderful stay with Mindy and Paul. Highly recommended.

We could not have asked for more gracious hosts than Paul and Mindy. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! The location is close to beautiful Donner Lake and a short drive to downtown Truckee. Paul and Mindy had suggestions for area restaurants and gave great advice for other places to stay and see while we visited California. Paul even mapped and printed out our trip. My only regret was we didn't stay with them longer.

Paul and Mindy have been wonderful hosts and their B&B has been really a nice cocoon. Oustanding breakfast and drinks and snacks in the afternoon with nice conversation with our hosts and other guests. The location is just great on the edge of Donner Lake and close to very beautiful hikes.

Wonderful b&b. Great location, attentive hosts, lovely breakfasts, comfortable room, afternoon snacks in the dining room with the other guests - a great way to compare notes in skiing and restaurants. We got delayed by chain control and called to apologize and were told to get dinner before checking in because restaurants closed in many cases pretty early and they would wait for us to arrive. Loved the place and hope to return
