What an amazing hotel!! The hotel was so beautiful with beautiful beaches. Beautiful pools. A lot of trees. Service was amazing. Good breakfast. Comfy room and amazing view from the balcony. Also free boat service to go to a nearby island. We were sad to leave this hotel and wished we stayed longer. Really there’s nothing negative we can say about this hotel. We will definitely stay here again next time we come back to Mauritius. Oh and they also gave us a bottle of white wine in the room! Now we are staying at another 5 star hotel but Shangri-la was so much better.

Great resort with great service. Spacious and a well thought out layout, with a more ‘adults’ side a more family friendly side. Would stay again.

Location is wonderful staff very cooperative food is excellent specially the main restaurant

Le Shangri- La dispose d’une île privée, ils vous emmènent avec un petit bateau et vous pouvez passer la journée là-bas avec restaurant et transat. C’est vraiment magnifique. Les chambres sont bien, nous avons prit une suite qui donne accès à la plage. Les restaurants sont très bon mais un peu chère.

One of if not the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in worldwide, and the best I’ve stayed in on Mauritius (have previously stayed at Four Seasons, Anahita, Constance, Maradiva, Heratige). Everything from the rooms, to the staff, to the views, to the food, to the beaches, to the pools, to the watersports, to the private island, to the spa, to the gym was essentially flawless. The restaurants and bars look spectacular after the renovation! Special mention to Jean - Marc, Juahan (on the island) and Ponnen - all of whom consistently went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best it could be! If I was going to have a grumble about anything it would be that we’d have liked more starters / picky bits on offer at the buffet given the price they charge for it, but the quality of the food was really good nonetheless. If you’re hesitating, don’t, just book it! We will definitely return.

Definitely the best hotel I've stayed on Mauritius. The luxury is discreet and elegant. The food is extremely delicious no matter Indian if sushi restaurant you choose. The typical Mauritian massage in SPA center is magical. And the staff are very kind and helpful. I fall in love with villas. They are 3 with private road, door, cooking chef and butler. But the most important is privacy, peace, you oun access to beach. The villas have 3 bedrooms and are very well decorated with ceramic and lava sculptures. Shangri-la hotel have also a private island for day activities or relax. I want to come back!

We came here for the first time in 2024 immediately before the refurbishment and we loved it even then . The location and the wonderful staff make it a very welcoming place to come . The refurbishment has been subtle and focused on maintaining the hotels historic character whilst adding a whole new level of style and modern chic . The Restaraunts , bars , beaches and pools all create a sense of plenty of space even when the hotel is full. The food throughout is of the highest quality with a French attention to detail. The serving staff and beach teams are warm friendly and attentive they make every guest feel special . Guests do come with children but this is not a child centric resort . Children like all guests are of course made very welcome but be prepared to entertain your own if you do . It’s relatively expensive too. A couple can easily run up an extras bill of four figures ( sterling , Euro or USD ) in 7-10 days but that also reflects the polite and pleasant clientele who mostly come from Western Europe, France Holland Germany Uk etc . I think you will know what I mean . We tend not to revisit places but we made an exception with this one . I have a feeling that we may well do that again .

The staff are gorgeous, the food is delicious! Our family travels frequently, and we are still yet to find a better hotel! We have been 6 times, and we will definitely be coming again… The hotel is equally family-friendly and chic. And, the facilities are fantastic! We feel at home every time we come.

We stayed at the Shangri La Mauritius for 7 days to celebrate my mothers birthday. We had a lovely beach front room in hibiscus and it was absolutely perfect. Plenty of beach beds/ sun loungers and a very good beach. Spa- I used the spa for 5 out of 7 days and the spa service was excellent. In addition the gym facilities are pretty good. Restaurants - Overall the restaurant services are excellent. Kushi by chef Harry was by far a par above the others. Really good sushi and a very well thought out menu. Ilot Mangénie - the private island that is available to guests only is outstanding. It’s lovely to get the boat across, swim and have a wonderful beach lunch. The staff- a huge thank you to Clarel, Sada, Hussain and their manager Jasan who manages the front desk team. One of the most excellent teams I have experienced at any 5 star hotel. The made our stay an absolute pleasure. In addition a huge thank you to Année at conceirge who organised my hike, Rohan who services the beach and Brinda who did an excellent job with daily cleaning of our room. With so many luxury hotels/ resorts and locations to try I am not someone who returns to the same place, however the Shangri La Mauritius is undoubtedly somewhere I would return to again. An excellent stay.

The resort has a really lovely friendly, family feel about it. Being greeted by Jean Marc every day is an absolute pleasure, he is class, so welcoming, happy and really good fun. Food choices are good, Indian lovely, Japanese equally lovely but lighting far too bright for an evening meal and therefore looses a bit of atmosphere. The private island restaurant is a great experience and Mediterranean restaurant is also great. One gripe I will say is the prices of salads at lunch are just ridiculous, effectively £35 plus for what I would say is a basic salad, 5 star is always expensive but this just feel like you are being robbed! We stayed in a beach front apartment, it’s nice not amazing, clean tidy, the upgrade has been done in part on the cheap, for example painted tiles in the shower instead of new etc but more than adequate. I would say it’s disappointing we were not told that the beach has a sea urchin issue and it’s recommended to bring shoes to go into the water, clearly a problem that should of been highlighted prior to our arrival. Overall I would recommend this resort, p.s forgot to mention the breakfast is exceptional.

We had the most wonderful stay here. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we wanted for nothing. The staff were exemplary, the room was spotless, the food was delicious with excellent choices. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Thank you .
