Casuarina Resort and Spa

I love this Hotel! My second visit and stay at Casaurina.. You cannot fault the staff team, who literally know what Customer Service means .. they cannot do enough for you.. Reception; Spa; Bar and Restaurant Staff; Housekeeping and Sabrina in the Entertainments Team are what makes this hotel and my return holiday so special.. beautiful people ❤️.. the food has continued to raise the bar with even more selections and some first class dishes that would rival a 5 star hotel.. If I would critique anything it would be the takeover of Framissima throughout the entertainment .. it is kindly set up for French holiday makers however the other 50% of guests are the rest of the world.. please include us with the same services and programme choices so everyone feels included ❤️.. otherwise separate it out in different areas of the hotel Casaurina is well placed in the North West of Mauritius for beaches, trips around the island and a warm climate and if you get stuck, Maurijet are on hand for everything Mauritius I look forward to coming back soon!

We like our staying in Casuarina Resort&Spa.The hotel is little bit overdated,but clean. They do housekeeping regularly. The garden is beautiful, tropical paradise. The beach is opposite, after the road. The sunbrellas are limited,I think you need more of them,but the beach is beautiful. Only my suggestion is you have to manage some bar on the beach, because examples we had All Inclusive service and we can't bring any drinks down to the beach, we just have it near to the swimming pools.The employees are very kind,always helpful and friendly, with a big smile.We want to thank you for all team,especially Ryksay Ravi,who made a very good cocktails, but all waitress are fantastic. Thanks for reception guys and for girls who serving our dinners.Animation team is also wonderful. We coming back definitely. We recommend this hotel for everyone who like simple but cosy traditional African style accommodation.

Excellent friendly staff lovely food. Rooms were clean. Didn't like that you couldn't check in till 2 even when you've arrived early, your all inclusive hadn't started so you had to pay for drinks. Beach is literally across the road which is nice and VJ who in the beach arranges good trips

I came with my Mum to celebrate her 81st birthday and as we sit now waiting for our transfer back to the airport, we are sorry to leave. We booked through Blue Bay and it was a great deal. We had our free massage this morning and the spa is stunning. It was a good massage too! The gardens are possibly the best I've seen anywhere and so well kept. We had a bit of a sea view but I think a garden view would be nice. There are 2 ponds and lots of resident ducks and huge fruit bats in the evening. Lots of noisy & greedy local birds that ate crumbs from our balcony. Beware there are birds ( I think Mynah birds) in the restaurant. The pool is very clean but we preferred to sit on the beach. I brought my own snorkeling gear with me, which was a good move as there's not loads about. However, the area we had access to was quite shallow and one guest was on crutches, having stood on a stonefish - so beware and bring decent beach shoes if you plan on going on the ocean. I didn't see the SUP-boards promised but to be fair, I didn't ask. It was quiet except at weekends when large family groups come to enjoy the facilities. The room was spotless and the shower powerful, but the bathroom was a bit old and tired. The main bar (and entertainment) is by the pool and staffed by very happy, smiley staff (Indians who prefer English language over the Creole spoken by locals and the majority French guests). Particular shout-out to Rohan, Pooja, Akshay & Luv. 😁😎 The food is always a challenge as I'm vegetarian and my Mum has a dairy intolerance. Non-dairy milk is very hard to find, although the hotel did oblige and bought some but it was unrecognisable to that which were used to. We were hugely helped by Sunil, the chef from India who explained what each dish contained and cooked special meals for my Mum, but others, perhaps eager to please, were not so accurate or careful and food was not labelled. Veejay on the beach for trips - he's polite and respectful and 'David Beckham' for beach tat. Bus stops on the main road. We found reception and management to be very professional, but also warm and willing to help us have a great holiday in any way they could. It's a shame newly-arrived guests aren't offered more than a small drink before the all-inclusive bracelet is issued at 2pm, but we knew and were ready for that. We arrived late on a Friday evening and we were greeted getting out of our taxi by our names from the receptionist which was a nice touch. Everyone who works here are friendly and hard working. It is a 3 star hotel so don’t be expecting a 5 star. We stayed in room 132 which had a sea view. The room was big. Bathroom ok shower was powerful but no shower head. The cleaner filled our mini fridge each day with a coke and 7 Up. When I mentioned I don’t drink full fat drinks there was a Coke Zero each day which again was a nice touch. Also the plugs in the room are British plugs so no adapters needed. We received a free massage so upgraded to a full bodied massage I would highly recommend and very cheap. Spent the day on the beach so didn’t get involved with activities so can’t comment. On the beach we met Vijay who we were looking out for to book our trips. He’s very friendly and cheaper than the rep in the hotel. So do book with him. We paid a cash deposit then when we arrived to pick the boat up we paid by card. Grand Baie is worth a visit you can get the bus about a 10 min walk away from the hotel. A bit like Turkey with loads of fake stuff. Wish we had tried Port Louis but never got a chance. Entertainment in the hotel in the evening wasn’t great every night. That’s our taste loads of people were enjoying it. On our last night there was a girl singer with a fella playing keyboard they were amazing. Wish they were on more. The entertainment staff are good but there needs to be more chairs around the bar area.

A very nice hotel at this price, located almost right on the beach, varied food, everyone will find something for themselves. very friendly staff. Special thanks to Shiva and his team for helping us organize the beach dinner and a few other things.
