Island Inn Beach Resort

Beautiful View with friendly staff and unit had everything you needed. Room was decorated in light blue and white. It was calm and peaceful with a fully stocked kitchen. Appliances worked and shower was nice. Excellent location with great restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

VERY POOR! The place is dirty and musty. It's obvious management doesn't care. Changed rooms twice, all no good. The room we booked had a bad odor and was obviously not cared for. The closet door was broken and didn't slide, the room safe was broken, plumbing was sloppy with mismatched fixtures. Hair dryer was broken and the wall mount had what appeared to be blood in it. Black build-up on the sink sprayer looked like mold, in any case had not been cleaned. Because of the odor we asked for another room. The desk clerk, Tyler, was very nice and helpful and and was able to switch us next door for two nights, but we'd have to switch after that. Lost our king bed for two queens. Fine. The new room was generally cleaner, but the next morning we found hundreds of small ant-like bugs crawling on the kitchen counter and breakfast table. They politely sent someone to spray for the bugs. Got rid on most, but not all. We then had to switch to a room on the fourth floor from the second floor, pack and unpack again, not fun. The new room had a musty odor also. The dresser smelled so bad we could not put clothes in it. They had no other rooms available. We really should have left and looked for another hotel, but that's not easy or convenient in the middle of a vacation, so we stayed. The second night I started having sinus issues, maybe a coincidence, but I don't think so. We asked at the desk (at the second room switch) if we could get some type of refund for the inconvenience. The clerk said she would have to ask the manager, but he wasn't in and she didn't know when he would be in. Never heard from him. The lobby was in disarray, with the ceiling opened up and wires hanging all over. The smoke detector was hanging and had not light on, I suspect it had been disconnected. We saw a contractor working only one day, mostly taking breaks outside. Construction materials were left on the ground outside and were getting wet from the outdoor showers. They are bring wet construction materials into the building! The elevator floor mat was filthy and the ceiling panels were missing. The elevator inspection certificate expired in August 2023. One cab made a loud clank as if passed the second floor and once the the lights blinked and the cab didn't move. Stopped using the elevator. Insufficient parking near the building - had to park in a lot across the street each night (actually a nicer lot than near the building). If you want a beach umbrella and two chairs it will cost you $45 per day, plus tip (the tip screen comes up first when paying be card). Can't call this a resort, just a run down, poorly cared for hotel. Sorry for the long winded review (I could go on longer), but this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. This place is a health and safety hazard and I will be contacting the health and building departments.

Overall decent experience. We are Florida locals and wanted somewhere to stay on the beach for our anniversary. Their website does mention construction going on and this didn’t bother us. The rooms could use some updating but I guess they are working in Th at. Publix is 5 min away, which we loved. This would have been an excellent stay had it not been for this one lady who kept accusing guests of smoking. She would be yelling at guest from their balconies asking them if they were smoking. She did this on more than one occasion. Quite annoying and it just ruined the experience for us. I understand they have a no smoking policy but there has be another way to address this. She even mentioned that she didn't have authority to make those calls but yet she felt it was necessary to call people out. I think she is a bartender and if that's true maybe she should just keep doing that.

Beyond filthy! The only positive about this room was the view of the ocean. The pictures I posted on this review certainly speaks the truth. The stove, microwave, and refrigerator in the kitchen area were not only filthy but shows a level of being being dangerous.

I will start off with what needs improved. Glass door on shower track very dirty upon arrival and read same issue in other review. Top cover on one bed had a small but noticeable stain on it. No extra blankets in room. Only a sheet and top cover. Would suggest bringing a small blanket when AC blows right on your face at night. Noticeable stain on couch in living room. Needs a deep clean. Table top glass missing on balcony table. Should either remove it altogether or replace glass as it can not be used for anything. What we did like was the kitchen was well supplied with pots, pans, kitchenware and cutlery. Had everything we needed to cook our meals. Has a Keurig but no K-cups supplied. Thankfully Publix nearby to purchase. Closet space is functional and enormous and plentiful for all guests in our family. Hair dryer and iron worked well. The front staff person was quite friendly with check-in that we appreciated. We did have to go every day for towels and occasionally for more toilet paper. Beds were fairly comfortable. TV worked well and games provided. Thankfully a beach umbrella was provided along with a wagon full of beach toys. The view from both balconies were amazing in morning and at sunset. The pool was nice and never too crowded when we wanted to use it. Food & service at Tiki bar was good. We would definitely stay here again with only minor improvements needed. A short walk to the beach and they have outdoor shower spigots to wash off sand in which we appreciated & used daily. Give this place a try!

DISGUSTING the owner of room 508 and Island Inn ought to be ashamed!  Please avoid 508 for your own good, or ask if its been cleaned. Check in was quick the evening we arrived and the desk clerk was informative and helpful. There are two elevators in the building, one was down "temporarily" - which turned out to be for our entire stay (Tues-Sat).  They did have a maintenence crew working on it for a couple days, but when we left on Saturday it was not fixed. Upon opening the door, we were greeted by a 10' blue line of tape holding down the transition piece between the new and old tiled areas.  We knew one of the areas was tiled recently due to the difference in the "real life" and what is posted on the Island Inn website.  This wasn't the only difference.  The fridge was new and where it was set up, you had a hard time opening it, as it opened INTO the counter rather than to the wall.  The couch on the website was replaced with a futon, which had about a 4" cut in it.  Most of the furniture had been replaced with something other than what was on the website.  Website photos are very misleading as i will add photos later. We thought, whatever...look at that view when we opened the curtains (only to find that the screen door was immovable and was ripped down the side.  Like seriously?   This is pretty ridiculous.  Stepping out onto the balcony one gets a great view, but the beat up plastic lawn furniture just left something left to desire.   I sat down on the bed to turn down the A/C and I don't think the vent in that thing had been cleaned since the unit was installed. There was a nice furry film of dust on it.   The ceiling fan made all kind of noise when running and when i went to pull on the string to either turn the fan up, or the light on, i dont recall, the end fob thing (had been tied onto the chain) fell off. We left our things and went down to the pool as it had been a long day.  The pool was ok and the tiki bar was open, there were a few folks having a good time.  Walked out to the beach to enjoy the sight and found that you could rent various items from a beach vendor (chairs, umbrellas, boards, etc.) Back to the room to take a shower....are you f@$%^%^& kidding me?  That shower was so stained and disgusting it looked like it was also put in the same time that the A/C was cleaned.  Shower head was rusty, had to hold the toilet flusher down in order for it to flush. I'm getting more irritated as i write this. Irriated that we spent $800 on 4 nights in this place when i've stayed at cleaner low end Motel 6.   No coffee in the room, there is a pot, but you have to bring your own  We already had cofee with us as we stayed 3 days in Kississimee days before.  First cup i grabbed apparently had not been washed...and still had coffee rings inside the cup (all it needed was a cleaning, apparently cleaning a coffee cup isn't in the cleaner's job description) The MOST DISGUSTING PART OF THISWHOLE ROOM?????  Stained comforter?....like c
