The room is big and clean, not crowned. Onsen is ok. View from our room can see lake toya. Not too far to go to convenience store and go to see toya illuminium

Hotel is old but rooms are huge and functional. Reception is a little cold. Parking is free and comes with onsen. It is located beside lake Toya and we had a chance to see the fireworks at night.

Classic room but food is delicious and good service

Good: 1. Onsen 2. Walking distance to shops and restaurants 3. Balcony lake view Bad: 1. Rooms are old and tired 2. Breakfast can be better

This is an extremely nice and highly recommended hostel if you stay in Akan; The room, the meal and the onsen are so worth for you to spend the amount.

The only positive things for my staying is room window face to the lake. Rest of my experience is not satisfying. Both dinner and breakfast are horrible. It's definitely I won recommend it to anyone.

From Toya Train Station Bus Stop (immediately visible when you exit the Train Station), you can take a bus/taxi. I chose the cheaper option which costs about Y340. It's about 7 stops to Toyako Onsen Bus Terminal (serving as a transport node at Toyako Onsen) and another 3 stops to Motomachi Bus Stop (2 minutes walk to Hotel Hanabi). Travelling time by bus is about 20-25 min, but subject to waiting time (take note of the bus service timings). Google Maps works well to provide suggested travelling route and timings. I booked a single room for one night that was clean and served it's purpose. It felt a lot like a hostel than a hotel but has an onsen. My booking included a buffet dinner and breakfast which was critical as there weren't many food options around the area. Both buffet had a wide selection to cater to Asian/Western food preferences. There's a 7-Eleven that is about 5-10 min walk away. There's a Tourist Information Centre at the Bus Terminal. The Bus Terminal is also reachable by walking which will take about 15-20 min. Hotel Hanabi is one of many lodging options along Lake Toya, and just walking outside the hotel, I was already able to capture the nice photo of Mount Yotei. During the time I was there (mid-end Apr), there were no bus options so the only way to travel to Usuzan Ropeway was by taxi booking done at the hotel reception. It costed about Y1900 one-way and took about 15-20 min. Once I was done visiting, another taxi booking is done at the Usuzan Ropeway counter to the next destination.

Love the public bath. Room is clean and managed to watch firework from room. Breakfast is decent.

Great experience. There is an in-house onsen with spring water directly from the mountain. Bus stop right outside the hotel. Basic amenities provided. View from hotel was great.

A very old hotel with tatami-style rooms. The tatami floor and the carpeted area where the low table and seats were placed on did not seem to have been cleaned much as the floors felt pretty dusty/powdery and had heavy scent of dried straws. When I walked on the carpeted section of the room, I could feel something biting into my skin and skin started to feel itchy afterwards. The clothes closet was old and felt very filmsy. Judging from the level of upkeep of the hotel, we did not feel that the meals would be of good quality, so decided not to purchase the hotel meals. There are many eating places and a convenience shop within walking distance from the hotel. Could not have a relaxing stay as the room did not have any black out curtains, so I was woken up by very bright sunlight coming into the room as early as 3 a.m. It was so bright that I thought i had overslept and had missed my check-out time. The plus points of the hotel is that you do get direct view of the Lake Toya from your room and can use the large onsen baths which span 2 floors. You can also watch the free 20 mins nightly fireworks display on Lake Toya from the room balcony from (8:45pm-9:05pm, 28-Apr through 31-Oct 2023).

Would prefer sea view but decent stay
