I rarely leave negative reviews but due to the lack of acknowledgement or resolve from management at Madison Plaza I have to say;
We were given a Business Queen room with black mould in the air conditioning—an obvious health risk. With no comparable room available, we were downgraded but still charged the original rate and told we’d be charged a $25 room change fee, I had to argue my case to not pay this which seems ridiculous! Staff were friendly and advised they were sending an email and the manager would contact us to provide a refund adjustment, but it never came.
Worse, they gave us two invalid email addresses for follow-up, and our online query has been ignored. A disappointing experience—poor hygiene, false promises, and no accountability.
Other than that it was a good location for us to visit all of the tourist hot spots in Townsville and we were provided clean towels each day. We were also able to store luggage for about 4 hours after check out and the lady that helped was very nice.
