Really good quality feel about the place. It was very clean. The spa was really relaxing and a great atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious. The food is excellent , the breakfasts are amazing with local produce.

The hotel is located in a beautiful location nearby Ciudad Real. The scenery is stunning, the hotel facilities are great too; exterior pool, spa, massage, a Michelin restaurant, golf, etc The problem is service at the restaurant and cafeteria during the day. The hotel seems short staffed and the service is poor and slow. We did not have the chance to have dinner at the Michelin restaurant, but the regular restaurant was average. The spa had several amenities that were on maintenance so it was not possible to enjoy it to its full potential. Overall, good place but needs improvement if it’s considered a 5 star hotel.

It is really difficult to find a good hotel somewhere not to far away from the highway in the vast area between Valencia and Granada/Cordoba. Luckily we came across this place and had a peaceful night in a large, traditionally furnished room. good breakfast, parking right in front and the pool was huge, but closed as it was so cold when we arrived.

A fabulous find en route from Marbella heading north. Set way off the main road this place is just perfect for a peaceful overnight stop. Wonderful room and fabulous spa. The food was also amazing. Views are tremendous so nothing negative to report.

We had a brief one-night stop here after spending a day in Toledo and Consuegra and then driving to Granada. We were upgraded to a room with a view which did not disappoint. We found the room very spacious with a small balcony and a perfect view of the sunset. The shower had amazing water pressure, which was awesome after a day of hiking. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel sits high up with amazing views. We did dine in the restaurant. The food was just okay, but we were too tired from our drive to explore other options. The breakfast was outstanding. The staff was excellent and very friendly. We pretty much had the hotel to ourselves, as it was a Monday with lower occupancy. We wished we had planned for a longer stay to enjoy the amenities of this hotel.

Love love this place Staff very friendly Dogs are so welcome Rooms excellent, comfortable beds are really big & comfy , clean , bathroom with jacuzzi bath & separate shower & the dog loves his treats & bed Restaurant bar very comfortable

dinner was excellent, rooms just great, sleeping room 23 degree was fine, bathroom no working heater, staff brought a mobile one to overcome. Staff in general very friendly. Spa was great, even we had no time to use it

Absolutely wonderful - staff, service, facilities and setting were superb. The bedroom was extremely comfortable with fantastic views across the vineyards and olive groves. The spa was very nice and relaxing. Dinner was very good, the venison, perfectly pink and tender. I would return in a heartbeat.

Unfortunately, this was the worst 5-star experience we have ever had. Lots of services you could expect are not provided: No parking service, no luggage service (well, the young female receptionist wanted to help but it is not her job). The airconditioning in the bedroom did not work - went to reception but noone came to repair it. The breakfast room is not inviting at all - no tablecloth, worn and oudated chairs, etc. Everywhere there are long and very dark corridors to pass to get somewhere. Also the restaurant + bar is very strangely placed and arranged. Even here, the interior design for a 5-star hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, we did not feel welcome and for the price paid (€ 375 p. night) it is way overpriced. We only stopped for a night and were more than happy to leave. This is probably only a personal experience but for travellers looking for a real 5-star experience this is not the place to go.

Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Beautiful property and great comfortable rooms. A great value for the cost. We would love to come back some day. Retama and the food were also amazing. This is an out of the way luxury retreat. Still, I can't stress how great the staff were.

The staff at the La Caminera are second to none. The Hotel Manager Juan was attentive to every detail and made our stay in truly enjoyable. The rooms are exceptionally nice, well maintained and very clean. The food was both tasty and well priced. The Chef even took the time to ask our group if we wanted something special for dinner and made the most incredible paella dish for us all. This hotel is truly a hidden gem.

We just returned home from a 30 day trip through Spain and Portugal, and of all the so-called “five star” properties, this was by far the lone truly five-star experience. It ticked all of the boxes from check in to check out. The room with a balcony overlooking the pool, the bedding and linens, the dining etc. was all spot on. Our host’s could not have been any more helpful, delightful and aimed to please. We are already planning our next trip back to spend a few nights there. Nothing but peace and quiet is what they offered. Not sure I could say anymore than that.

There is nothing to criticize about this wonderful hotel. We stayed for two nights on our journey across Spain. The rooms are spacious, beautiful and comfortable, excellent food and a wonderful experience at the spa where we had treatments and experienced their “spa circuit”, a series of wonderful water treatments. A special shout out to Lukas who made our stay extra special. We also had a wine and tapas tasting in their wine cellar with the sommelier and learned so much about the wines and sherries of Spain. Highly recommend adding this activity to your stay.

we used this hotel as an early stop-over on route from Marbella to San Sebastian. This cut the journey into 400 km first day and 600 km second day. This was a wonderful experience so different than normal hotel. Excellent service by Jorge in the restaurant and at the pool side.
