We have been going to Palmanova for years but this was a last minute booking and our usual hotel was unavailable so this was our first visit to the Comodoro. When arriving the reception looked lovely, modern, clean and smelt great. The reception staff gave us a welcome drink while we checked in. The tourist tax can be paid via credit card, however the hire of the safe and beach towels (small, old, frayed and thin) have to be paid in cash due to you getting some of the deposit back on check out. For the safe you are given a lock barrel with a key in and the safe in the room just has a hole in where you put the barrel, not seen that one before! After check in we located 1 of the two lifts, however both lifts are tiny and state for two adults, I would imagine peak season this would be a nightmare. We asked and paid for a room on a high floor, we were on the 5th floor, the corridor was dreary and the dark wooden doors didnt help. The room however was pleasant , loads of storage with a 3 door wardrobe, the beds were comfy, small fridge , kettle, 2 x tiny cups and a small wooden spoon! (like you get from the chippy) The bathroom had a walk in shower which did leak onto the floor so for the week we had to drape towels around the wall and behind the toilet to soak it up. The bathroom has no storage for toiletries and no hooks to hang wet towels. Also please be aware if your showering children or have mobility issues the shower temperature fluctuates repeatedly no matter what time of day you go in it and it gets very very hot, so be prepared to move quickly. The room was cleaned daily and the towels changed, the bath towels were on the small side. I dont think the floor was ever swept though. The worst part of the room was the balcony, the view was great but the furniture uncomfortable and plastic but our main issue was the height of the walls between the balconies either side, these were quite low so no privacy, and if someone stood up you could see straight into the next room. We had a very noisy couple next to us who were unable to talk quietly and played loud music all hours, we complained to reception, however they could not have been less interested and simply said " have you asked them to turn it down" they didnt even ask our room number so had no intention of doing anything about it. Luckily the couple left after 3 days and we got more considerate neighbours. We only went B & B and the breakfast basic, only about 6 hot plates so dont expect an array of mushrooms, hash browns etc, you get bacon, sausage , tomatoes, beans and weirdly carrots and green beans! A lady was frying eggs which on our first day she did soft for us, on the next day a different cook refused us a soft egg and promptly turned it over, squashed it, shoved it on a serving plate and said 'salmonella' surely if its hotel policy to cremate eggs then they all should do it? The coffee is dire, cups tiny and the 'juice' is weak dilute. Three days was enough and we ate out the
