Aluasun Lago Rojo - Adults Recommended

Good hotel in lovely area, food was OK, always something we were happy to choose. Roof terrace spoiled by guests throwing towels on beds & disappearing for hours. Don't know why as perfectly adequate toilets & refreshments. Staff don't question reserved beds even though the hotel fact sheet states that sunbeds should not be reserved.

Spent a week half-board here. First impressions were that the hotel is in a great location, only metres from the sea front if you use the locked rear entrance. The rooms are a good size, the only problem being that our room showed a few signs of age - flaking paintwork in the bathroom caused by damp patches in the bathroom ceiling (no ventilationat all), and a few chips in woodwork etc. That said, the rooms were spotlessly clean, cleaners in every day. Food was generally very good, only an asian-themed dinner disappointed. Overall, very pleased. May not be a 4☆, but better than most 3☆. Good enough to have booked again for later in the year.

We stayed for 3 weeks on a half board basis, there was always something to eat, I found most of the food to be very good, some people complained that the food wasn’t hot enough for them… there is microwaves that you can use! All staff we encountered were excellent, happy to help in any way they could, and always had a smile for you. I didn’t get the names of the two excellent ladies on reception (one blonde with bob style and one with glasses and short hair, both there on our check in) along with Connor, the 3 of them seemed to be there 24/7. Also the bar/ waiting staff worked extremely hard, the young lady with long dark hair and glasses was so friendly and bubbly. Housekeeping always greeted you and kept the rooms clean, bedding and towels changed on request. The hotel is situated close to the shops, bars, restaurants and beach (a minute walk from the rear entrance of the hotel) Benalmadena Marina or Torremolinos seafront is around a mile walk from the seafront behind the hotel. Reception are happy to arrange a taxi or order a mobility scooter if you require one. A short walk from the front of the hotel is a main road, where you can take the bus to various different places, Mijas was €1.75 and took around 30 minutes. Overall, we enjoyed our time at this hotel.

Booked a 3 night trip with TUI on a half board basis (breakfast and dinner). The check in was easy and staff were very friendly. The room was big and didnt feel very clean. Got clean towels and linens every day but the floors werent cleaned and we had a kettle but never any coffee or milk (i brought my own). The pool areas were good, especially the roof top pool and bar for all day winter sun. Drinks around €4. Some nice menu options for lunch but we were out and about during the day so just snacked and then had dinner in the restaurant. The dinner is served at 6pm until 10pm. Its very busy early on ans there was a queue out the door so its better to go from 730pm onwards. The best thing about the hotel is location. Beach, shops and restaurants on the doorstep and only 10 min walk to train station and Benalmadena

Close to beach out of back gate . Close to bus stops for either direction ,out front of hotel turn right then 1st left up some steps. Leads you to main road. Clean hotel with very attentive staff esp maids. Rooms cleaned daily and water left daily. If you want your sheets changing there is a card you leave on the bed. Kettle in room 3 lifts. Very small but nifty. My personal opinion on the food buffet style was very poor. Cold food. Unlabelled so you don't know what it is and staff not English speaking. Evening buffet starts 6pm and drinks are brought to your table once ordered and you pay when you are leaving that evening . Comfy bed. One or two english channels. WiFi throughout hotel bur poor on out balcony room 234 Ask for pool facing room. The ones facing the road have bins outside amd they are emptied around 3 am in thw mornings. Very Noisy Safe for 1 week is £24 but you get ten euro back. Rooftop pool is freezing but the area and bar are very good. Gets busy so by afternoon there weren't any loungers. Adult only and older people were main guests. Poor entertainment for 2024 really. Singers dancers etc. Starts 9.30pm

The hotel itself is in a really good area. Close to the beach and lots of local shops and eateries. Really spacious room and very clean. Staff on reception were really friendly. Unfortunately and I’m genuinely not fussy but the food was awful. We went half board and were only staying for 3 nights but we attempted 1 dinner and 1 breakfast. Dinner options weren’t great and to be honest we couldn’t find anything to eat. Breakfast was better but compared to lots of other hotels I’ve stayed in it was just ok and we ate out instead. I would go back as the hotel was well situated but wouldn’t want to pay for any meals.
