Tor Park Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

AWFUL, STEER CLEAR. I booked for myself and my daughter for 2 night. On arrival I was ready to turn around and just leave. The hotel is used as a hostel for people released from prison and with other antisocial proclivities. The receptionist didn't believe we had paid even after showing booking etc. People hovering in reception, smoking, and just staring. I was really unearved. We stuck it out for both nights but no room cleaning, so there were no fresh towels or sheets. No fridge or water. Just horrible go anywhere else.

I will start by saying AVOID THIS HOTEL the pictures are extremely deceiving, the hotel does NOT look like any of the pictures! Filthy, dirty disgusting hotel, Was told false information on the phone when booking, was told breakfast included to find out the kitchen was closed when we arrived. Also a needle was found in the carpark, after this was found we left! Contacted customer services to be told its not in their carpark!!

There were no staff on hand, the room was dirty, garbage in the corridor and lift. Breakfast was not available as per reservation, nor was there any bottled water in the room as per tariff. When asked for we were told there was none in the Hotel. We were woken up in the morning by people walking along the corridor due to the noise from loose floor boards. The picture of the rooms available on the website shows a much better room than the one allocated. No staff available on reception and they could not be contacted by phone as they were not available on the number given. We booked in at another Hotel after one night incurring additional cost. Refund requested.

I rate it one out of five because I can’t give it zero it’s terrible. The whole hotel smells. It needs complete deep clean as cobwebs everywhere there’s on the bed there was stains on the pillow. There was hair on the mattress on the sheets. There was mess and stains everywherewe couldn’t stay there. We had to find another hotel.

Hotel very tired ... reasonably clean but needs overall general attention. Better availability and access to staff. I would have expected better from a Best Western Hotel certainly in comparison with others that I have stayed in ..... similarly priced.

I have to say after reading some of the previous reviews I was pleasantly surprised by our short stay here. We hadn't planned on going anywhere this year as we're currently renovating our cottage but we all needed a break. Being extremely last minute and the fact there were six of us we didn't have many options, Tor Park had mixed reviews but we figured for the reasonable price we'd risk it. We stayed for two nights in two family rooms, on arrival our sat nav brought us directly to the hotel. Luckily we got a parking space, check in did take a little while but the gentleman dealing with us was friendly and professional. Our rooms were nothing like the photos that are being uploaded by other guests. They were clean, nothing was broken and I'd say in a fair state which is what you'd expect paying the prices they charge. Beds were fairly comfortable, we all slept well. One room was extremely hot but they provided fans. We walked into Torquay on both evenings which was a pleasant walk, if we needed somewhere to stay in Torquay again we would most definitely consider coming back.
