The Baytree

It was our first visit to Torquay. After looking at different venues, I called The Baytree. Chris gave us all the information we required for the weeks stay. The Confirmation details sent to us about type of room, payment, and parking details were very concise. On arrival we were greeted by Chris, who assisted us with our luggage. All house rules were explained to us, which we agreed. The Master twin en-suite room was a good size, with plenty wardrobe and draw space for our cloths. The walk-in shower was the best we had ever used. There was a TV. The double bed was big and very comfortable(considering we have twin beds at home). Tea,Coffee, and milk was also provided, plus extra if we needed them. The room had a good view, was very clean, and surrounding area was very quiet. Breakfast was ordered the night before. With a good choice Fruit juice, Fruit, Cereals, and full english, plus other option were available, and plenty of tea and toast. All the food cooked by Karen,( very pleasant and welcoming each morning when we met) all the food was well presented, hot, and tasty. The cleanliness of the dining room, and tableware were to a very high standard. We both had an excellent stay at The Baytree, with two good host.

We have just stayed at the Baytree for 5 days, the room we had was very comfortable every thing we needed was there. I particularly enjoyed the English breakfast. Karen cooked the breakfasts it was lovely and Chris was very good at serving. They were very helpful and knowledgeable if you needed anything we would go stay there again. Josie and Ron.

A superb Hotel in a quiet road within walking distance of the seafront, harbour and town. Comfy beds, great shower, lovely hosts and exceptional breakfasts. Would highly reccomend the boat trip from Torquay to Brixham and then Dartmouth.

We stayed for 1 week at The Baytree. Parking was easy with an onsite car park and plenty of unrestricted street parking. Chris welcomed us showed us to our room, (No.2). It was light and spacious, with all that we needed including a fridge and safe. We slept well in the comfortable kingsize bed and the shower was very efficient. Our room was serviced daily and throughout the guest house was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Chris and Karen have owned it for many years and have achieved and uphold a very high standard. Breakfasts, cooked by Karen and served by Chris, are amazing and certainly kept us going through the day. We can heartily recommend the Egg Benedict and Full English, though the Smoked Haddock with Poached Egg is very tasty too. The menu is varied, make/leave your choice the evening before. Chris and Karen know Torquay very well so definately ask them for advice on restaurants and places to go. We researched before choosing and booking The Baytree and it fulfilled and exceeded our expectations. We fully recommend it and hope to return.

A hidden gem. This small hotel offered it all and was an extremely pleasant place to stay during out Torquay visit. We were warmly welcomed by the owners of some 20 years and found them to be absolutely lovely. This hotel is an absolute credit to them and all their hard work. Room was delightful. Small but clean and well appointed. Tea/Coffee making facilities were offered. Ensuite was absolutely spotless and well maintained. Breakfast was included and offered all that one could ask for. Location was excellent and we were able to easily walk to town centre and beachside areas. Street parking was easily accessible. A thorougfhly enjoyable stay.

We stayed for a couple of nights early in June. Karen and Chris made us feel at home and welcome. The attention to detail, from delicious choice of breakfast to green matcha tea bags was perfect. Friendly advice and tips on where to go locally added to the experience.
