The location is excellent, and the facilities are well-maintained. However, it was a bit inconvenient that the elevator only stops on the 1st and 3rd floors, making access to the 2nd floor confusing. Additionally, the morning noise from the staff preparing their duties was slightly disruptive. It would be great to address these issues for a more seamless stay.

This is the most stategic location for traveller. Plenty of food & kombini around, shopping area just downstairs. Direct line to Narita. Ample cabin size. Daily cleaning. But u need to bring your towel. Else it’s ¥100 daily.

I really love this hostel for short term stay. Very close to MRT and train station and flood with good restaurant nearby. Can experience Japanese bath culture.

This is my all-time favorite hostel whenever I'm in Tokyo. I've been there for over six times. Never disappointed. Clean yourself a really nice, check staff are all polite. Everything is very clean and sanitized. The comfortable chairs with the blankets out in the common area are very comfortable.Highly recommend.

Very good location, easy to travel around with public transport. Spa very busy every night and clean. You need to leave the locker key at reception every time go out and show the key card to collect when you back. Fresh towels you need ask reception when you need it. Popular Sushi restaurant just next door. Lots place to eat and drinking nearby.

nice very clean room in a good area with 7/11 etc. near by. highly recommend this place when you are in tokyo and don’t plan to party and are rather for yourself since it’s very peaceful and quiet. i liked it a lot, thank you for the nice stay!

Charge for luggage storage, free storage up to 4 pm only. No bathroom, do shower in common place. Slipper can be stolen by others.

Excellent location to Ueno stations with direct link to Narita Airport, great value for monies shopping, Yatai streets just mere metres from accomodation.

Good hostel for a solo traveller, 7-stories building, bed is narrow but enough for solo. Shower in public bathhouse, no private area but good experience to know Japanese culture

The receptionist threatened me with scissors — shocking experience at Ueno Station Hostel Oriental 1 I booked two separate stays here — first for two nights and then for three nights. On the second night of my first stay, I went to the front desk to discuss my upcoming check-out and check-in process with a new booking I’d just made. I showed the booking confirmation on my phone from Trip.com, but the receptionist refused to look at it or even acknowledge what I was trying to explain. Despite my attempts to clarify, he seemed increasingly agitated, eventually reaching behind himself to grab a pair of scissors in a menacing way. I felt threatened and, in shock, I called the police. When the police reviewed the CCTV footage, it clearly showed him holding the scissors. However, he claimed he was just cutting paperwork, which is an absurd excuse. His behavior was erratic, and it’s clear he was not acting rationally. This incident ruined my experience, and I will never return to this place. I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying here, especially with staff who display such disturbing behavior.

In a walking distance to the Metro. The building is old and outdate but worth for money.

The best Hostel in the heart of Uemo, God value compare to other hostel nearby

I stayed at a capsule hotel with a large public bath and sauna. The capsule was a bit warm inside, but I was surprised that I slept soundly without any problems. In the morning, I refreshed myself in the bath. It was a fun experience.
