The Fair Green Hotel

We were greeted at the bar/reception and given our keys and instruction on finding our room..we had booked two double rooms (a friend came with us). On entering both of rooms there was a very stale smell and it was freezing cold.. we read the instruction panel on the wall for the heating, it was only available between set times and based on motion sensors in the room... we spent two hours in the rooms during the so called times the heating would come on and it never did. We had to go and request it be turned on and even that took a lot of time to even get acknowledged at the reception/bar area. The rooms had been booked for two adults in each of the rooms but each room only had one towel,one coffee mug and one glass...I mean come on it was booked for two people in each room....my partner then showered and it took over 5 minutes for any hot water to come through and when it did I was scolding hot. I showed after him and couldn't get under the water,we tried turning the temperature down and then it took a good while for it to cool down so I could get in. Our friend had no hot shower water initially so he went to reception and was told to take shower head down and hang it upside down so the water could draw though (thankfully it did). Now understandably we booked knowing we were above a pub but I mean I have never heard music in a pub booming like that untill 11.45pm (it was like a rave, floors in our rooms vibrating kinda loud) i feel this could be a warning that is advertised on the website?? Locating free carpark is a nightmare, again some instructions on website could be useful but the gentleman in the bar was very helpful in directing us. On the plus side the beds are really comfy, the bathroom is spacious,the atmosphere in the pub seemed lovely and everyone was enjoying the music but I think it depends on the kid of break your looking for.....I don't feel we will be starying again
