This review is longgg overdue. I chose Silversands Resort for my milestone birthday, marking my first solo travel adventure. Grenada, with its warmth and friendliness, proved to be the perfect destination. Accommodation & Views: Silversands combines modern design, comfort, and simple sophistication, making for an overall amazing experience. From my airport pickup and first moments on property to the room tour with Shay and sweet birthday treats in my room, I knew I made the right choice. The resort is well appointed, considering every detail to ensure a carefree stay. Waking up each morning to an unobstructed view of Grand Anse Beach was enchanting. Dining: I enjoyed breakfast daily on property, with special thanks to Vadie, Rianna, Keisha, and Trisha. My first dinner at the beachfront Grenadian Grill, featuring garlic prawns and fresh bread, was the perfect way to end my travel day. The staff at the Grill, including manager Clarista, servers Shatonia and Sharee, and bartender Merrick, made my lazy beach days even more enjoyable. Merrick’s Rum Punch is a must-try. The surprisingly great dinner at Asiatique on night 3 defied my skepticism about Asian fusion in Grenada. It was very well done. Dinner Offsite: I was determined not to leave the island without visiting Dexter’s. The Silversand concierge arranged a short drive up the hill, where I experienced a 5-course meal from the renowned chef Dexter - butternut squash risotto, pumpkin cream soup, pan-fried barracuda with plantain cake, and an apple crumble with salted caramel ice cream—an unforgettable fine dining experience from the second floor of his home! Spa: The spa lived up to its reputation. A full body wrap and massage provided the perfect blend of calm and relaxation. The spa’s design, anchored by a pool, offered sheer tranquility, even with the rain that greeted me post-treatment. Island Tour: Despite Grenada’s small size, I wanted to take a tour. The concierge arranged for Mandoo, “the Mobile Encyclopedia,” to take me out. His vast knowledge and love for his homeland made the experience unforgettable. My customized stops included a roadside spice market, River Antoine Rum Distillery, Jouvay Chocolate Factory, Lake Antoine, and Annandale Waterfall. Having done tours in Turks and Caicos, Anguilla, and Panama, nothing compared to Mandoo's. Staff: The staff’s kindness made a lasting impression, though I didn’t catch all their names. Special thanks to Shizzel at the front desk, Curran for pick-up and drop-off, Micah at concierge, and manager Shannon for the kind birthday note and wishes. The Spice Island, its people, and the Silversands team created a once in a lifetime birthday I will always cherish. There’s a reason Silversands is top-ranked. I can attest the reviews are true!
