Was offered and took the upsell to one tier above what I paid for. Overall stay was pleasant with good service, though the breakfast buffet felt it could have sourced better fresh produce suppliers in some parts like vegetables, dairy, and carbs. The pastry section was really good and the coffee was also good. Last but not least, the swimming pool had a couple of caterpillars near the greens and makeshift waterfall feature. Those suprised the kids a bit, but they didn't scare them much, still had fun.

The JW Marriott Surabaya offers a luxurious and comfortable stay. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the location is perfect, close to shopping and dining. Rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and stylishly designed. Overall, a fantastic experience with excellent service. Highly recommended!

The housekeeping department was very attentive to my comfort during my stay. I appreciated the lovely fruit, excellent decor, and the generous selection of amenities provided. Additionally, the food at Uppercut Steak House was outstanding. The staff there were exceptional, especially the assistant manager, Erna. She provided professional service and attentively addressed all my needs, which made me eager to return to Indonesia and stay at the JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya again. The cage-like design of the venue adds a unique touch, inviting plenty of sunlight—perfect for brightening up your morning. The buffet offered a wide array of dishes to satisfy international travelers' palates, making each breakfast an exciting adventure. The selection of Indonesian cuisines and desserts was particularly impressive. But what truly set Pavilion apart was the staff. They were superb and went above and beyond, taking the time to cater to us personally. They even recommended and brought out some local dishes—insider choices that added an authentic touch to our dining experience. In my past hotel breakfasts, the staff often just fulfilled their duties, but here, it felt more like breakfast with friends. That warmth and attentiveness made all the difference! And don’t miss out on the local flavors of ice cream! I can’t name the flavors since they’re all in local dialects, but they were heavenly and a fun challenge to try! For lunch and dinner, I found myself opting for room service several times because resisting their tempting menu was like ignoring a catchy tune stuck in your head. Each meal surpassed my expectations—purely irresistible! Another delightful surprise was the complimentary laundry service offered daily, which saved me after my waterfall adventure left me looking like a mud monster. And post-overnight trip to Bromo? I was practically a walking dust bunny! As I like to say, "It's the little things that count," and this thoughtful touch truly made a difference. Lastly, the hotel's location is fantastic! Just a short stroll away lies the biggest shopping mall—truly a haven for foodies and shoppers alike. This is a very good hotel in Surabaya, good location in the downtown, good services, and excellent breakfast with many choices. And it is only one-hour drive to the airport. I would recommend this hotel.
