Karaka Tree Motel

Cheap little place on the lakefron to stay, place wasnt the cleanest bed was a bit hard but we had a mineral pool in the room that was so nice at the end of a long day, gardens need a tidy up and the checkout is at 9 not 10 like every where else, staff are not that friendly either.

Where do I start? Unit was DIRTY, shower hadn’t been cleaned for months, kitchen DIRTY, bench-top laminate was broken and some missing (unhygienic), smoke alarm went off just after we arrived and staff took it and NEVER replaced it. Kitchen floor DIRTY, fridge DIRTY, sink in bathroom DIRTY (tap wouldn’t turn off). Bathroom door had been punched in. Bathroom light over vanity made a noise that sounded “electrical” and dodgy. PowerPoint beside bed sparked when I plugged something into it. Carpet by kitchen was raised and in a lump and we tripped on it - very DANGEROUS. Safety latch on front door had been installed wrong so couldn’t use that as extra security to keep door locked. Staff knocked on our door at 9.15am telling us we needed to be OUT by 10am - RUDE. If this is indeed owned by the millinium brand they should be ASHAMED. Disgusting, disgusting..

From the time of walking into the room was bloody disgusting. I wouldn’t even let my dogs sleep there even the fact of having to leave my personal stuff. There for a couple of hours to go to a concert was bad enough after the concert went straight back to that dirty Rotten horrible room got my stuff and walked straight out. 150 a night. Easy come easy go never ever would I stay in a filthy disgusting place and I use to clean motels ….for a living the place needs to be bulldozed down

The host is rude, no welcome greeting, only a grunt. The room is disgustingly dirty, holes in the net curtains along with dead flies. The spa bath is blue with yellow stains. The cutlery consists of Only one knife and one spoon, for two guests. The light fittings are hanging out of the ceiling and make a buzz sound. The mirrors are smeared. The fridge is turned right down so that it’s warm not cold. Have to push a cupboard door right back to gain access to fridge door. The shower is raised on wooden blocks, so high it’s difficult to get out of. No bath mat which means the floor is covered in water. The sofa is sunken and broken. The last straw was , at 9am, the owner tried to gain entry into our room, using a key, to tell us check out is 9am-10am. Fortunately we had the safety chain on the door!

Went for a family weekend away... turned to disaster. Extended family refused to stay in the rooms and if we didn't have to travel so far we would have gone too. Arrived to a young child at reception manning the desk. Walked into our rooms there was dust EVERYWHERE, mouldy curtains, mould in bathroom, spa bath didn't work in my room, a light didn't work in my Mums room and her couch was breaking. There was dark brown sticky residue on floors and cupboards. We went to heat up our dinner and there was green mouldy food that looked like it had been sitting there for a month or longer. Spoke to the person at the desk who said they would come around and see us that night... they didn't. Packed up and the person in charge rung the owner who said they would refund us the second night. We asked why the rooms were dirty and they said the owner only allows them 15 minutes per room... bs excuse. THEY DIDN'T REFUND US!!! Avoid at all costs if you like a clean place to stay.

Will never return, not welcoming by the gentleman. Couch had food crumbs under squabs , stains on bed mattress cover, food crumbs fell out of pillow, hair or beard hair in bowl, not wiped over microwave etc, no flannels or hand towel, bath towel was covered in fluff and old. He did vacuum and remake bed when I asked to.
