Walking the Coleridge Way, this was our first stop. Very comfortable rooms, a great place for weary walkers and we received a very warm welcome. Good menu, would highly recommend the fish and chips, absolutley delicious. A great stay all round, thank you.

We have always liked the windmill for carvery as a family, however it has had recent change and we just don't think they have it right yet. We had an in the week meal at lunch , waited about 45 /50 mins for our food to arrive. Then it didn't arrive altogether. can't complain too much about the food although it wasn't on Parr with what we've had here in the past. We just put it down to a settling in period.

Living locally we thought we would try for a Sunday carvery , I would not waste your money. The presentation was appauling food remains were simply left on the serving area, it looked like a football team had just come through. Gravy was like a watered down stock cube and tasteless , as was the roast potatoes, the parsnips that I had were uncooked, leeks were also half cooked, peas and carrots were fresh out of a bag and the food was generally cold. Whilst the table staff were attentive when addressing our criticisms, we were simply told, as we didn’t make them aware they couldn’t fix it. A very disappointing meal. I won’t be recommending to my friends and family.

As there are new owners we thought we would give it a try as we are local. Absolutely terrible and wont be going back. Sunday Carvery - beef was mooing - potatoes no favour and over cooked - cauliflower I think was straight from the garden, couldn't even cut it as it was so hard - parsnips under cooked. Hunters chicken was cooked and probably a 3/4 grade. Service wasn't great, we asked 3 different people how long to get the hunters which took one of us going to the bar and asking. 50 minutes is a long time. we did get complimentary drinks as an apology but would have preferred to have been able to eat the meal. I wish the new owners a lot of luck and hope they can turn this pub around.

After being a loyal customer for the past 4 years we were so disappointed today with our carvery. Cold plates, beef was still mooing, chewy turkey, burnt roasties & stuffing was like porridge and the veg & yorkshire pudding was tasteless. Gone downhill since it has new owners. We have always loved our Sunday Carvery here but alas that will be the last time we visit here.

We have been here a few times now always enjoy the Sunday lunch carvery but it's not a place to go if your in a group more than four people We went with family and we were seated in the room off the restaurant And it was very noisy and you couldn't talk to each other because of the noise the room had an echo effect and was not good Also the food wasn't as good as it normally is and when one of the group asked for the menu she was told that they had decided not to offer an alternative to the carvery And the waiter was very rude and unhelpful Shame because apart from this one experience it has been lovely

We have stayed at the Windmill previously, the new management team are clearly committed to making customers feel welcome and provide great facilities. Our room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. We didn’t try the restaurant as were visiting family, Plenty of parking and a lovely view over the fields and church to the coast. We would definitely return and recommend.

Really good reasonably priced food. Special mention for Angel who was on her own in the kitchen and Libby who was serving behind the bar and waiting on tables on her own. Nonetheless she was very friendly and cheerful and there was no delay in being served. Would definitely eat here again.

Booked for one night, having travelled down from Yorkshire for a business meeting in Taunton the next morning. Room was a good size, nice decor, lovely and clean, with a comfortable king sized bed and sea view. Had a delicious dinner and glass of wine in the restaurant and it was reasonably priced. However, I deducted one star, as I had expected to have had breakfast, but was disappointed to be told that breakfast wasn’t served until 8:30am, and I had to leave for my meeting at 7:45. So I had to make do with a cup of coffee in my room and leave for work hungry. I stay in hotels regularly for work, and have never known breakfast to start as late as 8:30 - most people have set off for work by then! So, lovely as this hotel is, I won’t be coming back.
