Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion

We enjoyed our visit there. Hotel/Lodge situated perfectly for the activities, clean, very friendly staff and decent guides. As I don’t understand or speak Spanish I could have wished for better English skills. Its not that they don’t know the language they just don’t pronounce the words well enough. Our guides (had 3) all had the knowledge and was eager to share but it was a little hard to catch it all. The only excursion that I was not really satisfied with was the one to the “botanical garden”. The garden was not very well maintained. The other excursion we were on was good, can’t fault anyone for not being able to see the Unicorn with these kinds of events then sometimes you see all the animals you could wish for other times not. So if you want to be sure to see the Elephant go to the Zoo. We stayed in the main building which had the advantage that the internet reached the room. Lights out/ electricity off at certain hours was brilliant as it made nighttime quiet and dark, only nature to make noise.

We were so well looked after from the reception at the airport, through to the reception at the lodge and then throughout our stay. What a lovely, polite and attentive staff team. Loved chatting to the waiters at meal times, Jorge & Alias/Elias. Great guys. The room in the grounds was spacious and comfortable with mosquito net and some complimentary repellent provided. A tip: dependant on the time of year and mosquito activity take plenty of clothing that covers your arms and legs to allay the bites and note its humid, so more than 1 set. You had a real feel of being in the rain forest with some wonderful wildlife noises and the odd spotting. The lodge itself houses reception, a lounge/bar area, shop and dining. Whilst we did find some of the tables and chairs a little low and a little awkward for dining this did not detract away from the quality and quantity of the food on offer. Options for a cooked breakfast to go alongside the buffet and 3 courses at both lunch and dinner. We certainly did get well fed. The activities were good overall. We particular enjoyed the boat rides up and down river, the early morning walk and boat ride on Lake Sandoval and the canopy walkway excursions. The rest of our group stayed for 2 nights before flying out to Cusco and the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. We'd booked for 3 nights. On reflection 2 nights would have been enough had we known the activities on our itinerary on Day 3 weren't on offer locally unless we paid extra and we'd had enough mosquito bites by then after stupidly not researching that we needed more cover up light weight clothing. But this shouldn't detract away from a recommendation to stay at this place with its wonderful staff team and pleasant accommodation.

This was an awesome experience. The main building was beautiful and spacious and we ate all our meals there like a fine dining restaurant. Breakfast was buffet style but we had your own table with a different meu for lunch and dinner all of which were three course meals. They also had a full bar. The service and food were excellent and had a good variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian selections. We stayed in a spacious cabana a 2 minute walk away from the main house with three beds. It was all screened in and had mosquito nets, shower and and toilet. Everything was set in the middle of the jungle with only access by boat. It had ceiling fans and electricity and was very comfortable, just like a motel room except one with screens in the middle of the jungle. We had several tours included in our package each of which were led by expert guides and we were able to take hikes, river boat excursions, canoe trips and see a lot of wildlife. We stayed with the same guide for all the tours which helped him to know what were needed and liked. It was a fantastic experience.

We had simply the best time during our stay at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion. We stayed for 3 nights/4 days. Our party of three had a cabana about a 3-minute walk from the main building. This is an immersive nature/jungle experience, and it lived up to its billing. Our cabana was comfortable and had all we needed. It was nice to be disconnected from our devices though there was good wifi in the main building when the power was on. We slept under mosquito nets and didn't have any issues with bugs/critters in our cabana. Sleeping immersed in the jungle darkness with all its noises was amazing as was waking up with the sun and birds. The meals were excellent, and lots of options for vegetarians. We were there on Christmas Eve and they had a wonderful local performance for us to enjoy together. All of our excursions were great, and our guide, Freddy, was VERY knowledgeable. Going on a trip with an expectation to see wildlife is always a gamble- we were very lucky and saw most of what we had hoped for, including a capybara on our night river excursion. Our guide did a great job on all our excursions explaining things and teaching us about what we were seeing. All of the staff were wonderful. If you are going to stay here, you need to realize it is remote and immersive in nature and may stretch you outside your comfort zone but, I believe, it is really worth it.

Had a great 3 night / 4 day stay here. Smoothe and well organised transfers from the airport brought us by boat down the river to the lodge - a great way to arrive. The cabanas were great with a comfy bed and surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Peruvian jungle. Howler monkeys can be very noisy at times! Organised excursions on foot and/or by boat/canoe were all very interesting with an informative guide. The food quality was very good at this full board and activities lodge. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. If you have a quiet time away from activities, would recommend sitting quietly at the secluded boat dock on a small lake only 100m from the lodge. Serene spot where you are likely to see lots of cayman, turtles, herons and other birdlife. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Fabulous stay. Staff are all very welcoming and helpful. It feels like you are in the heart of the jungle surrounded by plants and animals. You will see monkeys and parrots from your windows. The tours are excellent the variety is brilliant and most trips are included in the price. I can’t speak highly enough of Pedro our guide.
