Red Roof Inn Tallahassee East

The rooms were immaculate, and the front desk and staff were excellent. The grounds were well-groomed, and the parking lot was lighted well at night. The Red Roof Inn is the kind of inn that makes you feel at home and greeted by smiles and friendly handshakes; this is a 5-Star Inn.

The staff was nice. However. Live bugs, terrible smell, loud air conditioning, a toilet that wasn't attached to the wall. We had been on the road and wanted to shower but the shower itself looked dirty. We checked in at midnight cheked out at 7 am. Do not recommend.

I was trekking across the country and I unfortunately had to stop in Florida's capital city on what was apparently the busiest weekend of the year, so I couldn't even find rooms anywhere because most places were actually overbooked! Thankfully I had an old business card from this place back when it was a Best Western many moons ago and I was surprised to see a familiar face in the manager who used to do maintenance back in the day. I was just happy to have a quiet place to sleep for the night even if the rates were higher (which I understand, it's basic supply and demand), and it was great to see that an already solid property was still in excellent shape with a lot of minor upgrades put in over the years. Hope to be back sometime in the future when it's less busy.

We stayed for our daughter's graduation from FSU. It was the worst room I have ever stayed in. It was old and run down. The AC didn't work the first night. The towels were stained. The door was not aligned and bugs came in during the night. All of that and they had jacked up the regular $80 per night rate to $330 per night just because it was graduation weekend.

We travel with a kitty, and it is very hard to find accommodations that are suitable at a reasonable price. While this location is not a Biltmore, it is very suitable for the price. I met the owner, Raj, and he seems genuinely interested in providing reasonable accommodation at a fair price. If you travel with a pet, you might want to consider this one, as it was very clean and acceptable inside.

Booked through Priceline. Reservation was supposed to be for two upcoming nights and it got messed up and only booked for one and was on the wrong night. Called Priceline, who called the hotel. Hotel told them to have me book the correct nights and they would cancel the messed up reservation. They never did. Priceline said it would take 24 hours. 48 hours later, I called back and was told they would not cancel the reservation, despite telling Priceline they would. Hotel staff is shockingly rude and unprofessional. Also, I cancelled my upcoming two day stay. So they lost out on an extra day of income because they are so poorly run and their staff is so rude.
