Morangie Hotel Tain

We booked this specifically as we enjoy a carvery, and the website and large board outside the hotel both say there is a Sunday carvery. We also ate there a few years ago and really enjoyed the food. As soon as we sat down we could see the carvery area was not set up. There were 2 starters and 2 main courses available, roast beef or fish and chips, plus 4 choices of pudding. The lady taking our order was quite abrupt to start with but did warm up eventually. We all chose the roast beef which was nice enough but we would not return, we were the only diners for the first half an hour. We were aware that other guests coming in as we were finishing had also come for the carvery and were as disappointed as us. The hotel could be spectacular as it’s such a beautiful building but the overall impression we got was that no one really cares.
