Different from the common industrial style hotels in Taichung, the design style of Menglou is taken from the old Shanghai in the golden age. In the 1930s, Shanghai Beach was an important base for international business, and the European-style buildings that can be seen everywhere reflect the influence of Western culture on the place. Very worth for the cheap price paid but great location near Feng cha night market. Big space even compared to other more expensive hotel. One thing is you need to do self check in via kiosk.

The hotel is clean and spacious. It’s walking distance to Feng Jia night market. There are some eateries nearby which is convenient. We had a pleasant stay there.

Self check-in and check-out in was incredibly simple. Facilities were clean, and amenities were provided plentifully.

Location of dream mansion is great with 7-11/family mart right opposite and fengchia night market right opposite.
The flush system in the toilet however isnt great. But liked the idea of basin outside the outside convenient if one were to wash up in the morning while the other showers.
