Travelodge York Tadcaster

We arrived to an empty reception.. after about 20 minutes, the manager Maria turned up and asked "did I ring the number?".. what number? The number was behind another sign that wasn't obvious. Then Maria was having a conversation with her colleague that it was discussed that my family room was actually a double so I shook my head after already waiting 20 minutes with a toddler who needed a nap! Maria went "is there a problem?" Aside from her disgusting attitude and lack of customer service? Plenty thing are a problem and we hadn't even got through the door. We got in the room and it's falling apart, we even considered leaving and going to the Holiday Inn down the road but didn't fancy losing my £100. The house keeper was lovely though and apologetic. Maria on the other hand is definitely in the wrong profession as a hotel manager, literally nowhere online to complain to Travelodge themselves so I will be writing to them.

Good price, location is good. Park and ride is very close. Good option for staying in if visiting York. Newly decorated rooms are nice and comfortable. Plenty of parking and no issues with trying to find a parking space. Great staff especially Ashley.

Fantastic hotel right outside of York. The room was spotless and comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming (shout out to lovely Nigel). I really enjoyed my time here. A real spotlight needs to be shone on the unbelievable value for money. Highly recommend!

I found the hotel just like all other travelodge I've stayed in what set this one apart was a member of the team there called Ashley I've stayed in travelodge all over the country and have never come across a member of staff as welcoming and polite n helpful as she was a genuine credit to to brand can't wait to come back

The quietest/ best sleep I’ve had in a Travelodge. Ashley on reception was so helpful and friendly, I’d had a very long day and she just brightened it up! Thank you! The only negative I’d give would be that the pillows are lumpy, but as the hotel are in the middle of a renovation, I can imagine these will be replaced.
