George Albert Hotel & Spa

This was our first time visiting The George Albert Hotel and Spa. I was able to book a table for 2 for the Sunday Carvery easily over the telephone. On arrival we were greeted by the General Manager Stephen, who was smartly dressed I a suit, polite and down to earth. He showed us to our table and pulled my chair out for me - a true gent! The service staff were dressed smartly and took our drink order straight away and gave us our Carvery ticket. Beef and Pork were the meats available, I had both and my husband had beef - both were delicious. The chef/server was chatty and smiley. There was a good selection of vegetables to accompany the fluffy, crispy roasties - swede and carrot mash, roasted parsnips, very cheesy cauliflower cheese, green beans and parsnip puree. The Yorkshire puddings were divine as was the rich, tastey gravy. There was even pork crackling and parsnip crisps! We didn't have a dessert as we were too full up but they looked delicious! An excellent Sunday Roast for £18.50 each in very clean and well decorated hotel with very attentive, happy staff. Stephen gave us a tour of the hotel and it is definitely somewhere we would like to stay and try out the spa.

This was probably the fourth time we had stayed at the George Albert. We have always enjoyed our stay and no different this time. The staff are so very friendly and accommodating. The Chef also happily amended the menu to accommodate my diet requirements. Its ideally located for visiting all the places we wanted to see. We hope to return again in the future.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. We held a 2 day business meeting for over 20 people. Good meeting room and space, Great food, great waiting staff in the restaurant. Comfortable, clean, spacious rooms with with room to work. All in all, a nice surprise.

Arrived today for Sunday carvery, Very nice food I thought very tasty beef and the pork very succulent, although my wife is gluten free they were excellent in their choice and knowledge off available choice to which she could have basically almost everything on the menu. Carvery only £18.50 pp. Although drinks a little dear.all Said we will go back again staff very attentive and helpful.

Once you were through the main doors, the welcome and quality of this hotel was excellent. All the staff were lovely and our room was really nice. We only had breakfast in the hotel but it was of a very good standard and plentiful. If we are ever in that area of the country again, we would not hesitate to go back to The George Albert.

Very friendly staff,clean room and nice bathroom room also great service. The food was great and also very nice environment,located in the countryside with a kings theme,nice picture of Martin Luther king on the wall and a mixture of different art, all in all a nice stay,very personal service,I would recommend anyone to stay here.

We dined in the restaurant for my son’s birthday and the staff were wonderful and attentive. The food was delicious and chef would change and adapt dishes on request. Very relaxed atmosphere where nothing was too much trouble. They even did a birthday desert for him! Would recommend a visit and the food!

Quiet,Clean and friendly hotel, Staff extremely friendly and helpful, large bedroom and lovely comfortable large bed. Hotel very clean throughout. Breakfast very good, service was excellent. A real gem of a hotel. Only stayed for one night but would return if in this area again.

We booked a couple of nights when we attended a friends wedding and the Wedding Breakfast was being held at the hotel. Friendly warm welcome, and a good sized clean bedroom, so a good start to the weekend. The first night we dined in the hotel restaurant, with another couple, the menu is not extensive but there was a good choice of starters and main courses. All the food we had was good quality and the service excellent, and again really friendly. The cooked breakfast the following day was also very good, and again really friendly staff. If I had one criticsm it would be there was a limited choice of alternatives if a traditional "English Breakfast" is not your thing. Though it wont apply to everyone the Wedding Celebrations were well organised, plenty of food and again all the staff were extremely friendly. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever in the area.
