Snowplow on-site and driveway will be plowed first thing in the morning so you can be first in line to ski powder. This is a fantastic place for families or groups of friends to enjoy a few days in nature surrounded by the nearby rusty red foothills, snow capped peaks, and the landscape dotted with cottonwoods. If you’re relaxing indoors, the many windows offer amazing views from all sides of the house. We love our home as a comfortable yet adventurous getaway, and we hope you will too!There are 5 bedrooms, 3 ½ bathrooms, and the house sleeps 11 comfortably. Sleeping arrangements include 2 king beds, 2 queen beds, and 3 singles. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large comfy dining table, breakfast bar, and everything you will need to prepare gourmet meals to enjoy at our dining table or on the riverside porch. There is a full size washer and dryer as well as a full size refrigerator with ice maker. The spacious wrap around porch includes a porch swing, day bed, outside dining setup and gas grill that overlooks the river and large trees, one with a rope swing.Additional features include a semi-circular 10 person couch, gas fireplace, 65 inch screen TV in the living room, a kids/entertainment room upstairs with a 55 inch screen TV, a wood burning stove in the entry way, and high speed WiFi and internet. The basement includes a game room complete with a ping pong table.About the property: The Animas river flows along the East side of the property, and the grassy slope behind the house is a good place to put in your rafts, kayaks or canoes. There is a small oxbow pond where deer, elk, and birds congregate at dusk and dawn. Feel free to wander the path cut in the grass—it leads to a small beach at the southern end of the property. The popular Durango to Silverton steam engine runs parallel to the nearby road during daylight hours, a fun sighting for kids and adults alike.About the area: Durango is an adventurer’s haven at every time of year!
