Bloomestate Swellendam

Beautiful B&B with charming hosts and fantastic breakfast. The grounds are extensive with beautiful pool area and pick your own citrus fruit available. Rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. Concrete pathways to all rooms make luggage movement easy. Calvin also cleaned our rental car for us. Perfect!

All perfect, the room, the surroundings, the help and support, and the brilliant fresh breakfasts. Host Chere could not do enough for us. Looking forward to the lemon cello when we get home. There is a lot to do in the local area and some great restaurants.

This is definitely the finest boutique hotel we have found in the area around Swellendam. Service, design, location, attention for all small details - it couldn't be better. Library, honesty bar to dwell, gorgeous pool with mountain views, spaceous and lush garden, ... make your stay very special. The 2 owners are a charming young couple who make sure you get a fantastic experience, and their staff is as dedicated as they are. RECOMMENDED.

What a beautiful place! Rooms are spacious and comfy. Breakfast is delicious en the estate looks beautiful, the orchard is really nice to walk through. The swimmingpool is very to cool of after a warm day. Calvin and Chere are excellent hosts that make you feel at home!

We truly enjoyed our 1 night stay! A very warm welcome, beautiful grounds (2 hectares!) that include sprawling lawns, a large pool as well as a citrus orchard with 200 trees. We enjoyed the homemade marmalade & lemonade! The hosts (Calvin and Cheré) are doing a stunning job when it comes to personal service and attention to detail, you can sense their passion for hosting and entertaining. They will also gladly assist with restaurant recommendations and sightseeing options in the area. Our room was spacious, quiet, comfortable and beautifully appointed. Safe parking on site, airconditioning, fast wifi and a delicious breakfast with lots of homemade baked goodies. Highly recommended for a Swellendam stay!

A great bijou nestled in a beautiful garden with lots of green, nice furnished rooms, very clean and well maintained. We were again warmly welcomed by Cheré and Calvin and we really enjoyed our 3rd stay here with our children. We were very spoiled at breakfast, including gluten-free products, thanks again to Cheré for organizing this! The dogs are also totally lovely and peaceful, our children already miss them. We hope to see you again soon and thank you for EVERYTHING!

The owners, who are very young, and sweet, and energetic, take great care of their guests and this is a good, comfortable option for Swellendam which has no shortage of accommodation, almost all of it catering for the European market which thinks, of course, in Euros. The property is quite enormous, with a small pool and big grassy spaces, and a lemon orchard as well. The rooms, all within the garden setting, are spacious and serviceable; but the decor, in my view, doesn't quite make sense: minamilist with a floral twist. Lighting was creative. Bathrooms are also spacious and prettily turned out, if rather complex in design. No bidets, which I think is a pity when there is space. Tiles slippery when wet. Good linen and quite a luxurious feel. The king size bed is actually 2 singles thus made up, with a longitudinal ridge running along the join, rather defeating the object, and two soft nadirs on either side. Unfortunately, in my room the matresses are way beyond their prime and far too soft; four pillows, all fat and stiff. Why not have a selection? Not everybody wants their head raised 10cm when they lie down. Breakfast was excellent, with a small buffet of nibbly bits, a tasty, cooked selection of eggs and the usual accompaniments, and very good coffee. At around R2000 per night, single, B&B, decent coffee should also be available in the room, not instant. Very sophisticated selection of DVDs and some books in the recreation room, mostly in Dutch. All in all, a pleasant experience. Well done to Cheré and Calvin.

Fabulous boutique hotel , we visited this hotel as a stop over on our garden route holiday, lovey hotel , rooms modern and stylish, breakfast was excellent, lovely choice. Beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the pool area, The owners and staff all very friendly and welcoming . Cannot fault this hotel.
