Bloomestate Swellendam

A truly delightful hotel conveniently tucked into the countryside between Cape Town and the east coast - we stopped for two nights en route to Mossel Bay. Chere and Calvin are wonderful hosts and couldn't do enough to help us get the most from our trip with info about local attractions. A super-comfy room in pretty gardens and a fab breakfast including delicious homemade treats - what more could you ask!

We stayed here for one night and enjoyed it! The host and hostess really do everything to make the guests feel comfortable. Fantastic service, and a delicious breakfast. Beautiful garden with lovely pool. The host also gave good tips to make our route even more beautiful. We would really recommend everyone to stay here if you are in the area!!

Fabulous rooms Exceptional hospitality, with Calvin and Chere doing all they can to ensure you an excellent stay. This was day 7 and 8 of our tour and by far the best food and value in the local restaurants, all booked including taxis by our hostess. All very much appreciated. Highly recommended

A fantastic place to stay , great hosts , lovely comfortable rooms, well stocked and large shower and bath. Nice gardens with lots of space and pool, fantastic breakfast ,it is pity we only stayed one night . I would recommend this place to stay

Calvin and Chere of The Bloomestate made us feel from arrival till departure VIP guests. Their hospitality, service and friendliness was amazing!! It was a pity we couldn’t stay longer as their estate fulfilled beyond expectations. The garden, swimming pool and the accommodations - we loved it!

We stayed for 2 nights in this trendy, modern, designer boutique property. It is very much on the outskirts of Swellendam so a car is needed to go anywhere other than the pizza establishment next door. The room itself was very large and bright with patio doors opening on to the immaculate gardens and pool. Having chairs, even fold up one, on the patio would have been a good idea as the alternative was either sitting on the dividing wall bench or inside. Everything was spotlessly clean. The sunlounges round the pool were very comfy and the owner has a bell in the building which sounds every 20 minutes to remind them to come and clean the fallen leaves from the pool – that’s a new one on me! There was a large guest lounge with honesty bar, microwave, crockery etc, a good selection of games and dvd’s. Breakfast was all home-made produce from the owners and was excellent, there is a large orchard on the property which you are welcome to walk round, and this provides the fruit for all the citrus products.
