Wanhe River View Inn (Shilu Branch, Shantang Street)

We traveled to Suzhou on the day there was a typhoon! Informed Xiao Gu that we were at the road junction and he came to the rescue with 2 giant size umbrellas (bracing the storm) and helped us with our luggage. The room looks exactly like the picture. We were provided with 2 bottles of water and a fruit plate. You can also have Chinese tea while enjoying the canal view! All the amenities are very modern. The hotel is surrounded by local shops so the prices of food, fruits, pastries and even souvenirs are really reasonable. Shantang Street is a few minutes walk away (tourist price though) and there are many photo spots on the way there. Xiao Gu has been very helpful in many ways. Thank you for your hospitality. Great place to stay in Suzhou, perfect location and super friendly staff. The room is beautiful and has basic amenities. You can enjoy the terrace at night. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience at the Wanhe River inn! The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The place was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained, with charming details that made our stay even more special! The staff gave us excellent tips and recommendations for exploring Suzhou, which really enriched our visit and helped us discover places we might have otherwise missed. We truly appreciated everything and are already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Suzhou!

Good location in the Old Town, lots of restaurants nearby (with some tasty street vendors around at nighttime). Girlfriend loved the room and the traditional Suzhou house feeling (a lot of photos were taken). The boss is also very hospitable, offered to lend and then give me an umbrella when it started raining outside and we had to leave. Recommend to those wanting a more boutique/unique hotel stay experience.

The place is quite unique, esp with the tea area where u can rest and have some tea while chatting with ur fren or partner. It's very near to 山塘 area, one of the popular tourist area and a lot of restaurants as well as nice pub and cafe area within walking distance. The staff there is very helpful. Bothered to contact me on the day itself to make sure I know my way there and even offered to fetch me at the street if I'm lost. Check out day, he even helped us carry our luggage to main street to wait for transport to train station. Overall, very good experience at this place.

This hotel is so beautiful! It’s neat and clean, and the owner was very helpful. When we mentioned our concerns about using Didi and ordering from *******, he immediately offered help and connected us with his local contact. He also helped us collect our parcels. We received a fresh fruit platter daily, and the location is within walking distance to the tourist street. This stay is the main reason I’m willing to return to Suzhou. Thank you for hosting us!
