Le Pleasant Hôtel & Café

This was a very cute hotel in a fantastic location. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The cafe and breakfast was Exceptional!!! We unfortunately had room #5 which was very small, think Manhattan sized room. It also does not have a closet nor dresser so you are basically living out of your suitcase in this room. The biggest problem though was the bed. It was a double mattress which was like a lumpy canoe. I required a Tylenol each morning due to back pain. If you can select another room I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our stay at La Pleasant Hotel in Sutton more than exceeded our expectations. It was a beautiful and unique experience. The suite was very roomy, clean and well supplied. We especially appreciated the robes and Nespresso machine. The staff, especially Jeffrey, was extremely friendly and helpful (and made a great Apperol Spritz). The location was central to everything. We highly recommend this fabulous gem!

We have stayed at a few places in Sutton and Le Pleasant Hotel & Cafe is by far our favourite. It is quaint, very clean, staff are all very friendly and bilingual. It reminded us of my grandparents stately old victorian home - my husband and I both said it felt like home. While my husband skied at Mont Sutton and Jay Peak, I enjoyed some rest, fresh air on the main street, and some boutique shopping. It was very easy. The highlight of the weekend for me was my brunch in the cafe prepared by a Cordon Bleu trained Chef from Montreal. i have never had a more delicious, fresh and enjoyable morning meal. Chef even had a mocktail which was perfect. Don't miss the chance to eat there at least one day. Our only "complaint" was really towards ourselves for only discovering the perfectly folded bath robes in the tv console as we packed to leave!! Our misfortune, but next time we shall wear them and feel like kings and queens! Thank you for a much needed re-set!

The staff is superb: watchful, helpful, available, friendly. The hotel is nice and comfortable. Cannot expect huge bathrooms and suites in a historic home hotel. The quality of care and comfort makes everything great. The location is perfect and has off-street parking.

We stayed in a queen room with the breakfast and spa package (massage at Balnea spa). The building is a historic building in beautiful condition with ornate trim work and probably original stair posts. The room was clean and quiet with thick towels, and a comfortable bed. The AC was nearly silent. The spa exprience was fantastic and we highly recommend it. We had a couples massage and spent some time in the thermal spas - one is an infinity spa where you can look out into the lake as if you are in it. You could spend many hours at the spa. Our room (#10) was on the third floor so there were 2 fairly steep sets of stairs to climb with our luggage (Nathalie did offer to help if needed). We found ourselves planning how to save trips up the stairs, such as leaving directly from breakfast versus going to the room first. We were not really prepared to have the mattress, nightstands, TV console, chairs, coffe maker, etc. all approx 18" high off the floor. We were bending or squatting constantly. No suitcase stand was found, and the angled walls prevented the use of the wall ledges, so we used the chair in the bathroom to hold our suitcase. There was one other low chair and a small glass side table in the bedroom. The TV remote had about 40 buttons and we never figured out how to work it (no instructions). The bathroom window was on an angled wall, but the blind hung straight down, creating a gap where people eating at a cafe across the way could see straight into the shower, so we rigged it with a towel to stay back against the window. All in all it was an enjoyable stay but the low furniture was not for us. Tips: Breakfast gratuities figure $12 per day @20%. Pack light for stair climb. Beware of stairs and low furniture if mobility issues.

The pillows are soft, yet substantial. Just perfect. I considered inquiring into buying some for myself. The hotel itself is charming and the hosts are friendly. I stayed in two different rooms during my stay. The hotel made the transition between them easy. I really enjoyed my stay.

Once again we returned to LePleasant for a wonderful stay. Feels like we are getting together with old friends. Amazing accommodations and amazing breakfast as usual! But what makes the visit special is the human side…the interactions, the warmth, the attention to detail and the are always there to help with any question. Located steps from main street Sutton made this the perfect home base for us. A short walk to Saturday farmers market. The staff were always helpful and so lovely. We had the breakfast included and loved everything on the menu. Our superior room was great as I requested a queen bed however our friends bed was smaller, more of a double, I believe. Highly recommend

This is the second time we've stayed at Le Pleasant Hotel & Cafe, and we were just as pleased as we were during our first stay. The hotel is beautifully appointed, with wonderful contemporary art hanging throughout. You could not ask for a more friendly, accommodating staff. We chose the bed and breakfast option, and the breakfast was as lovely as it was delicious. We look forward to future stays.
